Week 5 Rankings

Great North

1.  Cobras (4-0).  A bye this week.  The Gladiators didn’t do enough this week to knock you off the throne.  You have to travel to the Oilers this week.  Win this one and coast to the playoffs.

2.  Gladiators (4-0).  The Anarchy came to town and made it a close one.  Still the better team won.  You get to stay home again this week.  If the Cobras lose and you take the Xtreme to school you will be in the driver’s seat.

3.  Diggers (4-1).  You showed the Warriors no mercy.  Exactly what you want to do when you host a lesser team.  Next up two weeks of travel with a bye in the middle.  You lost last time you were on the road.  Don’t make a habit of it.

4.  Oilers (2-2).  Yes I’m giving these guys a big benefit of the doubt.  I think this is a much better team than their record shows.  Deal with it.  Write you own ranking and put your own opinions in.  Anyways Cobras are coming to town, win this one.

5.  Xtreme (3-1).  I have to admit that I have been hard on the Xtreme.  They lost week one against a very good Gladiators at home.  I have been holding that against them all season so far.  I get it now you’re good.  Now you got a chance to repay the Gladiators at their place.

6.  Anarchy (2-2).  Lost a close one there in Great Falls.  You don’t have time to dwell on it.  You have the outlaws coming to town.  They like to score.  Do you have what it takes to stop them?

7.  Stampede (2-2).  It looks like you took your frustration of losing at Blackfoot out on the Avalanche.  Seriously, bring this same squad out next week vs the Diggers and you could throw the Idaho Division into utter chaos.

8.  Mustangs (2-3).  Really need to stop losing on the road.  You fought really hard this last week.  You have a bye this week.  Heal up and get yourselves ready for the back half of the season.  Need to end the season with 5 wins to have a chance at the playoffs.

9.  Outlaws (1-3).  You have had an extra week to plan for the Anarchy.  It is your last road game of the season.  You have played every team really tough so far.  Too bad does always equal wins.  Take the next step.

10.  Monsters (1-3).  So many byes this week.  You have had 2 weeks to prepare for the last place Avalanche.  You beat them last time in their house, don’t let them return the favor.

11.  Warriors (1-4).  Seriously guys, you can’t score on the road? At all?  You get to rest this week.  Then you get to travel to your home game in Utah.?..?  SASA is weird okay.  Don’t get me wrong it’s great but weird to have a home game in another state.

12.  Avalanche (0-5).  First road game of the year didn’t quite go as planned.  Still looking for that elusive first win.  This will be the best chance for it.  Bring the house, the bathroom and the kitchen sink.  Really guys this is your last real chance at a victory this season don’t squander it.

Big 9

1.  Trojans (4-1).  Yes they lost.  Yes they are still #1.  Why?  Because they deserve it.  They traveled clear to Utah and kept the score close.  Numbers still say they are the best team in the Big 9.  Don’t like it go beat them (except the Sting guys, great job keep it up.)

2.  Revolution (4-1).  Getting to #1 is a lot easier now.  Still have to get past the Lions.  Good thing you have two weeks to prepare.  Yes you beat them last year for the ship.  Just don’t overlook them. They are hungry.  How hungry are you?

3.  Lions (3-1).  Yeah so… I really hope all of the 3rd and 4th string guys got lots of playing time.  This was over so long ago the starters almost should have not played.  Let’s just hope the Raiders didn’t get 400 yards on you.

4.  Sting (3-1).  Giant slayers, what’s your secret?  You have got to continue this trend.  You get the last of the big three on the 21st.  Go for the hat trick.  This week though you get the Wildcats.  They are on the outside looking in.  Don’t get tripped up by them.

5.  Shock (3-2).  Second big three you have played this season.  Second time your offense has been held to just 7 points.  You have let the Sting slip past you even though you beat them.  I still think you guys are a top tier team.  Just need to go get those wins.

6.  Vipers (2-2).  I knew you guys were better than the Wildcats.  Now everyone else knows it too.  Great job.  Another win this week and you could find yourselves not playing a big three is round one of the playoffs.

7.  Wildcats (1-3).  The Vipers now have the tie-breaker for the 6th playoff spot.  You have some tough football ahead of you.  Dig deep gentlemen.  The season isn’t over no matter what anyone says, myself included.

8.  Hawks (0-4).  Ahhh…  That was a nice break in the action.  Now you get the Raiders.  The numbers say that you have the better offense and the better defense.  Although at the end of the day the only numbers that matter are the ones on the scoreboard.

9.  Raiders (0-5).  Last week was not your week.  In fact this season just has not been your season.  The next two weeks you have the chance to show if you can win.  You get the Hawks and then the Wildcats.  Also you scored on the Lions, granted it was in garbage time.  Most likely against the 12th string…. But points are points.

Big 9 Ranking Week 5

1 - Rev (4-1) Beat Shock 40-7. Either the Rev are a lot better or the Shock are a lot worse than I thought. Offensively and Defensively they shut down the Shock, the game was over by the end of the first quarter. I'm moving them up to #1 because I think they are the best team in the league right now. Rev still play Lions, @Sting, Raiders.

2 - Sting (3-1) Beat the Trojans 13-9 with Smoke and mirrors. Sting have beat two of the top teams and only scored one offensive TD. I don't know how they do it, they don't look that good, but they find a way to win. In a 4 game series, I'd pick both the Lions and the Trojans to win 3 of 4, but as long as the Sting beat the odds they have to be ranked up there. And in this league, its "Just Win Baby". Sting still play Wildcats, @Vipers, Rev, and Hawks.

3 - Trojans (4-1) Lost to Sting 13-9, Trojans found out what its like to travel in the RMFL. Moved down 2 spots, only below Sting because they lost to them. Offense didn't look very good, Defense was still strong. Trojans still play @Lions, Bye, Wildcats, @Vipers.

4 - Lions (3-1) Beat Raiders 82-6. Beat the hell out of a defeated Raiders team. It was more of a scrimmage than a game. Next up they get the Trojans at home in the Game of the Week. Lions road isn't easy, they still play Trojans, @Rev, @Shock, vs Wildcats.

5 - Shock (3-2) Lost to Rev 40-7, in a game that wasn't even that close. Dropped 3 spots in ranking. Next up Surging Vipers. If Shock don't start playing better they will be traveling during the first round of the playoffs. They are mighty happy right now they found a way to beat the Sting. Still play Vipers, Hawks, and Lions all at home.

6 - Vipers (2-2) Vipers Beat the Wildcats 34-28 to get control of their playoff destiny, This week they can increase their odds if they can knock of a struggling Shock team that looked horrible against the Rev. Still play @ Shock, vs Sting, @ Hawks, and @ Trojans

7 - Wildcats (1-3) Lost to Vipers 34-28, The loss to the Vipers leaves the Wildcats on the outside looking in for the playoffs. They need to win at least two of their last 4 games, but still have to play @Sting, @Trojans, and @ Lions. Not an easy road.

8 - Hawks (0-4) Bye. This week the Hawks get a chance for a confidence builder against the Raiders.

9 - Raiders (0-5) Beat by the Lions 82-6. Finally a team they can compete with, assuming they haven't lost all hope and confidence. Its been a tough few weeks.
