CLEAR THE AIR!

I have been on here way more than I like to and have wasted a lot of my time.

However, with that being said this post is to clear the air about the situation that has been floating around about Dan Buhler and The Rebels.

We have no problem with Dan Buhler! Unfortunately Dan was on the receiving end of a lot of built up tension and rumors leading up to the game that took place. To Dan, we sincerely apologize for the things that happened, and I believe after speaking to Dan personally for about 45 minutes he fully understands the situation and the events that led up to it.

I will say that the posts that were submitted on other threads were not attacking Dan Buhler or his character. If that is the appearacne it gave off then we sincerely apologize for that. The point we were trying to make was simply what I just stated above and in other posts about the importance and maintaining an appearance and perception.

There is a certain integrity that I believe the league needs to safeguard and uphold, and avoiding all possibilities of anything that can be damaging or detrimental to that is vital.

Once again let me make it clear to all. We sincerely apologize for the perception that was being made about Dan due to our comments about the situation.

And to make it clear, we are by no means making any excuse for our loss. The Spartans beat us and that is FINAL. No excuses, if's, and's, or but's about it.

As Andy has stated in previous threads, we are humbled by the loss, and believe and hope it will be to our benefit in the future.

Dan thank you for the opportunity to talk and hash things out. I believe that you are well respected and highly regarded by many, and that is very commendable. I Look forward to getting to know you better as well.

Good luck to all under 50 yrs of age. hahhahahahahaha Tom I am just joking. Dont get all offended!

Take care

Wayne Alofipo

Wayne,

I think the apology on here was the right thing to do. And no offense taken. I think it was a funny line!

Ok Rev. You're right. I apologize for making more out of this issue than it should of been. For that I am truly sorry. However I won't apologize for sticking up for my friend Dan Buhler. I recieved a personal message from him today thanking me for doing so. Is that high road enough for you? If not, them it is your problem not mine.

Clear the air part II-The Final Word. As we all try to put last week behind us, and prepare for the next game and the rest of the season, allow me interject my two cents on the matter. Hopefully i can clear up any remaining confusion and answer some questions from my perspective about the subject. I've watched this whole situation unfold and I have to admit, I thought my message board super-star days were over long ago, but here I've been, in the center of another message board sh*# storm.  I appreciate those who have vouched for me and stood up for me. It's never a positive thing when a game official becomes "THEE" story of ANY football game, unfounded or not, and I regret that I became part of the story. I had a good conversation with Wayne where we talked about what happened and both expressed regrets about the situation. Wayne sincerely apologized to me and I accepted his apology. I also told him that I'm not the type of guy who holds grudges and won't harbor any ill will towards the Rebels or him personally.  I also pointed out that had I known that my presence on the sideline was going to be a problem for them, I would have gladly removed myself and found a replacement.  That being said, (and I told Wayne this) that I think the whole conflict of interest thing is a joke. I have no "interest" in the Spartans and I have had no affiliation with any RMFL since the 2011 season ended. Is it possible to have a conflict of interest where there is no interest? I've had ZERO involvement with the Spartans since this time last season, in fact I had one foot out the door in 2011 as I only attended four home games and ZERO road games including obviously the game in St George. I took a lesser role on the team last year for several reasons. I didn't make any defensive play calls nor did I make head coaching type decisions last year as i had done in 2010. Let me re-iterate... I've had ZERO involvement with the Spartans since this time Last year!  However, I cant blame the Rebels or anyone else for not knowing or understanding that, in fact I am to blame for not making it transparent much sooner. I had thought about making a post on the message board before the season, but I didn't for a few reasons. Mainly I figured no one really cared so why bother. Secondly, new message board, new website, I never did take the time to register, and still haven't. I should have made it known via email to the owners and board members and also on the message board.  I do however find it ironic (and I told this to Wayne as well) that I was called out for being in conflict when the whole league is filled with obvious (perceived) conflicts of interest. Starting with every league staffer who is affiliated with a team competing in the league, and there are several of those across the league, from Treasure Valley to Dixie, and several places in between.  Some may think that I'm best buds with all of the Spartan players Coaches and owners but the truth is, I don't know a lot of those guys. I am however friends with many of them, just as I am friends with many players across the league. Some of my best friends are those whom I've met through rocky mountain football from Montana to Utah. That's what life is about for me, friends, family, and football. Just to be perfectly clear, I have no "interest" in Spartan football other than being a former Player and coach in THE LEAGUE of RMFL and want it to succeed. As far as the game went, I stand behind my calls/non calls 100% and always will. Some may disagree and thats fine too, to each his own. That's part of wearing the stripes, that your calls aren't going to be popular.   Your comparing me to a school teacher who interviews a student behind closed doors at night is off base. My performance Saturday was NOT BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, it happened on a football field for all in attendance to witness. Additionally, my calls/non calls/judgment calls are on film for all to see if only it will be released.  have nothing to hide in regards to how my crew called the Rebels//Spartans game. Although our crew did a fair job, there were a lot of distractions. Starting with a bad chain crew, bad time keeper, track equipment on the sideline, poorly marked field, even the national anthem was messed up.  The real bummer though is that even though we've all kissed and made up, it's too bad when black eyes like this happen,  it makes it that much harder to get good officials to work the local games. For some strange reason, game officials dont like being called out for being crooked, personally insulted and berated for three hours. There is a certain amount of irreparable damage that  occurs when games like this take place. Knowing that game was going to be a hard fought and physical game, I put who I felt were the best guys available to work the game. One of them being a playoff level high school official whom I've been trying to get work RMFL games for three years. His first introduction to RMFL was the infamous 84-0 game, his second was the Spartans/Rebels game. I fear that this individual may never return my calls again! What most people don't know is that I was a football official before I was a Spartan, I scheduled all game officials for the three years i coached for them, and will be a football official for many years to come. I will always be known to some as "Coach" because that's what they remember my as. I have literally HUNDREDS of friends in the football community who'm I've played with, coached with (and against) and have called hundreds of games for. Some of them call me "Coach" as a term of endearment because that's how they remember me. But just because someone calls me Coach, doesn't mean I'm going to FIX a game. There's a good chance that if you come to the Boise area for a game, that you could see me rockin' the stripes for your game. And I'll most likely have friends on both sidelines.  In closing, although some harsh words were said and the game situation got a bit crazy, the game was called fairly without any bias for or against either team. The game was won and lost by the respective teams, period end of story. And hopefully that is the end of the story. Hopefully everyone has moved on from this, I know Wayne and I certainly have. Regards Dan Buhler Team Ginger #1 Idaho Supervisor of Officials Rocky Mountain Football League Ps... Kyto,  Your "ginger kids"post will cost you 15 yards next time I work a Shock game, now go "wok" the dog! (jao gin maa!)

Buhler,

I just had a few min to pop my head in to the message board today and have to say it's nice to hear from you.  Thank you for not texting me at ridiculous times anymore.  And I do hope that you ref the REV game when we come in town.  It would be good to catch up and I know a few of my teammates would like to chat with ya as well.  I hope all is well with you.

Leave it 2 Goldie to try and act like he is some honorable person. Any educated person can see what you trying to do to the dixie team by adding some jabs indirectly!

Goldie try poking your head in here less! BTW it appears as if your boy toy Tom misses ya and needs ya desperately.

To Mr. Anonymous,

An uneducated person would respond like you just did and read WAY past what was ACTUALLY said. I wasn't at the Spartans/Rebels game so there isn't anything that needs to be said by me. Wayne and Buhler have discussed the issue, so you're allegation is meaningless. I figured Dan would be back to check the responses to his post and wanted to say 'wassup'. Take what was said, for what it actually said.

Lets assume that Golden was taking a jab.. he says it was legit and I believe him. But assuming that he is jabbing at dixie. At least he is doing it with his name attached to it. I will never understand those who continue to hide behind the non signed in anonymous.

No matter how blatent, how ugly, or how off beat someone is on this message board. those who do it under their own name at least deserve the respect of doing it as a man.

Over the last few years I have seen some crazy comments, some finger pointing, and many other things. But one thing I have always noticed is that there are guys who do it with their name and face associated. The shock always own their comments, Tom always signs his name, wayne and sarge, golden, and many more. Do I agree with everything they say.... NO! Do they occasionally rub me wrong? YES.. But knowing that they put their name behind it changes the way we handle or deal with it cause it is done correctly.

take the 10 seconds to sign in and stand for your comments. you can hate on me, but you will hate on me to my name and my face.

Wow...even a "Clear the Air" post can turn ugly if/when the right people get involved...but as long as we're talking about something, I'll jump in...

@ Dan Buhler, although we've never talked face-to-face, we've passed by in the old chat room a time or two and from my experiences dealing with your former teammates, associations in this league, or any players who you've encountered they have ALL stated that you're a stand up guy...I think Wayne and the Rebels feel the same way...the problem once again wasn't with you per say, but the perception of a situation...it's over, and hopefully EVERYONE has moved on...

@ Batkinson, although I'm technically an anonymous poster (and have been for 8+ years) I 100% agree with your statement. Agree or Disagree with whatever is posted, when someone leaves their name attached to it the post speaks louder than when there's no name attached. Funny thing is my name would be more anonymous than a "Anonymous" post...guess I'll stick with Follower???

@ Hobbit (aka Golden), you know what I think of you, we've had MANY discussions. Nothing but respect for you as a person, player, and message board personality. Feel free to "pop in" anytime...you're always welcome

@ Uno Siete, that line was vicious, cold, harsh, and sooo true about Bracken. Thank you for sharing that. And while many people take your posts WAY to litterally...it's who you are and that's why we all hate you...kisses and hugs

@ Everyone Else, blah blah blah...this board has picked up A LOT lately but if you step back and look at what is driving the traffic (comments/posts) it's mostly the NEGATIVE happenings within the league. I'm not innocent by any means of this as I've been overly vocal about some "happenings" that I'm not especially fond of...that being said, I hope that ANYONE who's possibly followed me these past 8 years understands my commitment to this league...I'll try to focus more on the positive...but accept my snide remarks for what they are...entertainment value only...(sort of)...

From Buhler's post

" there's a good chance that if you come to the Boise area for a game, that you could see me rockin' the stripes for your game. And I'll most likely have friends on both sidelines."

My response

"And I do hope that you ref the REV game when we come in town. It would be good to catch up and I know a few of my teammates would like to chat with ya as well."

Mr, Anonymous...can you see how one response leads to the next? Remember these are verbatim. How can you misinterpret this? Insecurity, you only speak Spanglish or jibberish, angry about something, need a SNICKERS? Not sure how you could get this one wrong, but it had nothing to do with what you alleged. Once again, I figured that soon or later Buhler would see this and I wanted to say 'wassup'. Either way, I'm done with responding to your anonymity. Sorry to barge in on the conversation to say hi to Buhler. I'll leave it at that.
