the gladiators (if still in AA) would not even be in the same division of those two teams. in fact, they would only impact 5 of the teams on this list... the fact is, there is progression, although maybe not the amount we would like to see.

the formula is basic and up for dispute... Win % is worth 40%, human poll is worth 30% and opp win % is worth 30%. this one only has one human ranking in it. I am looking for more people to volunteer their rankings to me on a consistantly weekly basis to add fairness into the formula. lets hear your thoughts!!!
Can you rank the divisions even though they don't play cross divisional?
I was thinking about the opponents records tie breaking scheme, and I don't think it is going to work this year. If MT and UT have to break a tie, they will be even because they play the same amount of games and they will have equal win-loss. Idaho is slightly different because of their single rival opponent. But in the end it is highly likely the tie breaker is still a tie because of it.
@ Capn I saw that too... funny thing is that is the reason i wanted to create a power rankin system... lol
@ anonumous... i would say the pregression is there in the oilers ranked 4 and generals ranked 6. its not unheard of to have a new team at the bottom as they figure out how to build a team. the oilers have been around for a few years now and look where they are now compared to last year...
Oh... and divisional ranks are based on the average rank of their teams... its the only way to really look at the differences in the divisions... i think the rankings are accurate though... divisional wise...
those teams have moved up because the gladiators aren't in the AA anymore and even tho they aren't. they are getting KILLED in AAA.. so again i ask.. where is the progression???
The progression is in the 50,000 people of Eureka and Elko Counties who now have the possibility to be involved in the RMFL. Winning insn't the only sign of progression.
The Mustangs have lost 2 more games this season already than all of last regular season. How is that progression (in your mind)? Fact is though, the Mustangs are a much improved group of guys, and they are better than they were last year, BUT the entire Idaho AA division has stiffened up in terms of competition. Just because 2 expansion teams are winless so far doesn't mean we are moving backwards as a league.
I don't know of many leagues that don't have a couple bottom dwellers. And I don't think it's fair to classify Elko as that yet. They are getting better.
Bottom line is, it's going to be hard for any expansion team to be part of the league because competition has been improved over the last 4 years by a huge amount.
Gladiators would prob be a middle of the road AA team. They lost a TON of players from last years team. They shoulda been forced to move up before last season when they had all the MOUTHS on the team. Then they coulda rejoined the AA this year lol.
We are progressing just fine. Getting better each week as every team in the league does when building chemistry. Ask the teams who have played us (except the Cobras) how were doing. :)

Elko is better than the Thunder were. They are better than the Oilers were in their first season. They will be fine if they can stick together. They remind me of Snake River when they started and look at them now.
Umm nothing against Elko at all and this isn't a dig at them just fact checking James Eyre. The Vipers did not play the Oilers in year one so you really can't make that argument. It took three years for the Oilers to be held to their 3rd shutout. I will say I do like the things I've seen from the Warriors and they do have a bigger roster than we did in our first year. I think Elko will be fine. They do remind me of the Thunder but again with more numbers, so I am looking forward to the game this weekend.
If you dug deep you would know that I only played with the Vipers the last two years. I did play you guys your first year. Twice I believe. I'm not taking a shot at you guys. You guys are a class act and much improved. All I was getting at is that the new guys at the bottom is not much of an argument if you look back at the history of the league. They are much more organized and better coached than most first year teams. If they can make it through a couple rough years they will be a decent team.
