Wow u got the oilers gettin beat by 18, didnt they only lose by 2 the first time?? and i dont see matadors losing to pass heavy no run game generals team
This guy must not know the Utah side of the AA cause he has the Cobras only winning by 25. I know nothing about the Idaho Montana games but I do know Utah so
Oilers over Stampede 21-17, I hope anyways its going to be a good game and I'd love to see everyone come out to this game cause its gonna be hard fought.
Cobras over Warriors 35-3 We played the Warriors last week and they are getting better especially where they are at home they should havce more people to put them on the board with points this game
Sorry Oilers but this will never happen again. Not this week and not ever. Be glad you caught them early. Even with these numbers you lost the first game in your house. Good luck to you in Logan on Saturday.
@ the guy with the Thurber stats.. idk if u are a player or a fan but the oilers defense is pretty legit.. there shut our offense down in granger, and our Offense rolled the Stampede defense
i am a big rmfl fan. located in Utah. I have seen Logan play a few times and the oilers play. Logan is going to kill them.
I saw both the logan vs cobras game and the oilers vs cobras and oilers beat cobras on a few big plays and the cobras qb threw 3 or 4 picks. Cobras probably should have won that game but ended up losing bc of poor execution down the stretch.
I also was at the logan vs uintah game and the logan qb threw a few picks and one was a pick 6 and that IMO explains Logans narrow margin of victory. I expect Logan to beat this Oilers team by at least 14.
Logan and the Cobras both have way more talent then Uintah. Uintah is very feisty but doesnt have the horses to keep up IMO.
If I had to break it down by position group it would be as follows:
QB: Logan #1 Cobras #1A Oilers #3 (this isnt even close actually the oilers qb isnt on the same planet as the Logan and cobras.
Running game: Logan #1 Cobras #2 Oilers #3 (Logan and Cobras have great running qbs. Logan has the best RBs. Oilers probably have better rbs then cobras but the cobras qb is such a great runner it makes up for it.
WR: Probably even.
Oline: Logan #1 Uintah #2 Cobras #3 Logan and Uintah both have really solid Olines. Cobras has been up and down. Looked great vs Logan and bad vs uintah.
Defense: #1 Cobras #2 Logan #3 Uintah Once again I think this isnt close. Cobras defense is big fast and hits like a freight train. They blitz alot but can get pressure without it. Cobras D is probably one o the best units in the AA. The only weakness for the cobras is sometimes they are too aggressive. Logan is very similar to the cobras in this regard not nearly as big though. Logan is physical and fast. Uintah defense tackles well for the most part and has a pretty good secondary that has provided some crucial Ints for them. But they dont have the size, speed or physicallity of Logan and especially the cobras.
So Oilers congrats on the Cobras win but that will be your first and last decent win of the year. Cobras and Logan will be fighting for the division crown on May 26th.
We know for sure the last anonymous poster is reaching because if he would have looked at the stat line provided for Thurber against us he would know that Thurber threw exactly 0 picks against us and definately no pick 6's. If he had been at the Logan-Oiler game he would know that our 2 scores were both by our #3 Utah not on the same planet ranked QB with a 60 yard touchdown pass and then a 35 yard TD run. The difference in the game was a missed Pat, dropped 2 point conversion and a kickoff return for a touchdown that the Logan returner made a hell of a play.
We will take the #3 defense ranking as long as we continue to average giving up 8.8 points per game.
To be honest I'm just glad that the Oilers are relevant at this point in the season. Good luck to everyone this weekend travel safe and Thurber I hope you have after game festivities already planned for saturday!
Oh and P.S. That 8.8 Oilers ppg average includes A KR for a TD, 1 pick 6, a blocked punt in the endzone, and a safety we elected to take. There have been 2 actual touchdowns scored on the actual defense with both PATs missed. 12 points in 4 games = 3 points per game by the defense.
If I remember correctly, the only reason we only won the Cobra game by 6 is becaused they blocked a punt in the end zone and recovered it for a TD. Our D has allowed 2 touchdowns in 5 games (including a pre season scrimmage) the Cobras and Logan are both very strong teams. It will be a fun second half to the season. good luck to you all.
QB: Logan #1 Cobras #1A Oilers #3 (this isnt even close actually the oilers qb isnt on the same planet as the Logan and cobras.
Oilers QB:The kid is very talented and has out played his opponets in every game this year, hes quick but struggles at times, but is the best athlete on the field at all times, needs work on his deep ball and to be more accurate.
once again we ranked last but three points a game is one hell of an achievement when most points scored on us are by stupid special team mistakes and our pint sized quarter back scrambles all over every team we have played this year. so saturday will be very interesting to see our last place defense that are not as fast' hit as hard' as above post mentions but we still going to kick some ass
You want real talk? I will agree with one thing--if any of the Utah teams are going to compete with the elite from Idaho & Montana--we have to get better. We know it and I think a lot of the Cobras & Oilers know it too. There are A LOT of good teams in the AA this year, and I for one am enjoying the parity.
Good luck to all on Saturday (except the Oilers of course--no offense). Hope my flight is on time!
HOLY HELL!!!! AA TALK AND ABOUT THE UTAH DIVISION!!!!!! It must be my birthday. Since I have played both the Oilers and Stampede I will weigh in if only to keep the chatter going. "anonymous" had a few valid points. However none of them matter because he posted under anonymous.. SO here is how I see it Quynn and Thurber the qbs for the Cobras and Stampede are really similar. Big, strong, punishing runners. Quynn has looked great this year when he has had time. Thurber is a matchup nightmare. The oilers qb is def slippery but much smaller so a bit easier to corral I think. All three qbs love the deep ball and so sometimes throw picks trying to make plays. The logan rb didnt look like a powerful back but he brought the noise. The Logan Oline was maybe a little smaller then Uintahs but there guys were really solid and played until the whistle every snap. Uintahs team overall plays with tons of heart and plays super hard. However Logan was more physical and I was a hell of a lot more sore after the logan game.
With those things said. Uintah's defense liked to blitz it seemed and i dunno of that is super effective vs thurber. Logans defense was physical and laid some wood out there their pass rush wasnt as good as uintahs at least vs us. I think this weekend Logan beats Uintah by two scores Thurber stays a matchup nightmare Uintah cant quite contain and the Uintah offense stalls a few times. final score 20-10.
I could of course be an idiot and or just bitter bc uintah ruined my qb debut last season and booted us out of the playoffs. However thats what i am thinking. Also one prediction with our game vs the warriors. They get their first points against us bc the cobras nose tackle is a big slow ogre.
I'm going with bitter because I would be too! Also, you were not as sore because we don't have a blocking scheme for big slow ogres besides try to outrun him. haha
no crap Jaye. This is just all fun talk buddy, dont read the dang thread if you are just going to complain about how stupid it is. Compared to many of the other threads, this one is pretty normal and decent.
so since i was in elko dudring the logan vs uintah game could someone please give me the rundown of how that game went? I am not super surprised Uintah won. More surprised by the final score. So someone who was there lets here how it went.
I dont see very many AA games, actually none at all. But saturday that oilers team looked like it played pissed off and had something to prove. And that qb for the oilers def is pint sized, no offense, but he sure can play, suprised the hell out of me. And that #40 for the oilers was pretty legit as well as there corner was a shut down db.
