I will be up in Logan early tomorrow visiting a friend who just moved there. I was wondering if you guys could give me some info on the grub places up there. I've been to the Blue Bird but I wasn't the biggest fan. Are there other good little hometown cookin' places up there?
Honestly, Im not a big fan of the blue bird myself...
Go get a burger at "the Owl" Bar, or authentic mexican from La tormenta, Juniper take out has decent food, mandarin garden has good tiny spicey chicken, Firehouse has great pizza, If you are looking for fancier food then you will want to hit up the Element or Hamiltons. Im not a big diner person.. Im a fast food guy.
Good game shock way to play. Thanks for traveling and bringing a good game. The one thing i will say though is your coach/stataticion whatever he was is a classless douche bag. I completely understand trash talk amongst players throughout the game, which there was more than enough to go around this game. But for someone to be on the field talking sh** when we have an injured player is ridiculous and low. So next time we meet go ahead and tell him to suit up. Other than that thanks for the game and heal up. Good luck in the rest of your season.
It was a good game and like Nick said, I don't think we expected that but for some peeps to not shake hands at the end of the game too is also "classless."
I don't get on this board much but wanted to say good game to the Stampede. It's always a treat to play against Jenkins and you guys have a good thing going up in Logan.
#24, you're a heck of a player and #19, my knees are hurting today from all your tackles. Job well done. For the most part it was a fun game and as Bracken said there was a lot of good and bad football played by both teams.
As far as class goes, I don't know what you're referencing Carlisle as I didn't hear anything. If something was said to an injured player then I agree it was out of line. HOWEVER, you talk about leaving the sh*t talking on the field, maybe you should look at your own teammates. Who at half-time thought it was appropriate to tell a mother of two of our players to "eff-off" and to "GTFOH." Real classy, having 8-9 of your guys (coaches included) sitting on a bench next to our fans and when one of our fans gets a little loud you tell her off.
Either way, the game is over and I think both teams have a lot of good and bad to take from the game. Hopefully we meet up again as I had fun competing against most of you.
They was not one time that we had a coach say anything while there was a injured player down, and to accuse us of that is crap. The only time anything was said was a joke to our own player and never to a opposing player so don't point fingers. The only situation I can think you are talking about was there was 2 players down at the same time and we didn't see the other player down until the other one was on his way off the field. Injuries are not something to joke about. So take care of your own players talking to fans and don't get on here and talk about stuff that NEVER happened
I never said anything to any fans or players. And in all honesty I never heard anyone say anything to me personally. I just show up and play every down. I love when people trash talk me I just laugh about it and try to put them on their back in a clean football hit. There was a lot of dumb sh** going on all over the place but for me personally and the guys I was head up with, it was clean and a very fun game to be in. Thank you shock for the game and I look forward to meeting up with you fellas later in the season.
UH-OH! Shock and Stampede! Be careful you will probably be receiving a fine here soon for doing all that! Just like the Rebels got screwed! But lets see which team Dave Sire and Travis try and screw! They only go after one!
First off, I'm not trying to hijack this thread with a "Fat/Old/Slow/Weak Rec League vs. NFL All-Star Caliber" AA/AAA comparison. I want to share some insight because I am a AA player who watched his first AAA game on Saturday. Something I haven't read about in any of the usual AA vs. AAA discussions is INTENSITY.
I stuck around after we got whomped by the Oilers (by the way, Oilers... good game) and ran chains for the Stampede/Shock game. As you can see from this thread, the passion is still high. Even when things weren't going well, the sidelines didn't get all quiet. Instead, both teams rallied and maintained their intensity. Sure, things got hostile and there were some, I'll call them "weird", calls/no-calls but overall, the excitement level stayed high and WIN seemed to be on everybody's mind. It was damned motivating.
Now, I don't know if the tone of the game was specific to this game or if most AAA games are that exciting (again, the 1st AAA game I've watched) but I honestly don't think it's an across-the-board skill level thing that separates AAA from AA. I've read references to it in the past and I honestly think it is the desire to win big and put on a great show. I recommend to fellow AA players (starting with myself) to keep the intensity, DO take mistakes personally, and pump each other up until 00:00 is on the clock. It really does show on the field and if you can motivate fans, who have no personal stake in the game, you can definitely pump up your own teammates who are fighting to win right alongside you. To the Shock and the AAA Stampede, thanks for the good game; I'm glad I stuck around after an Oiler-delivered ass beating. To the AA teams (where applicable) we can seriously learn from their example and take the games up a notch. Yes, playing football is fun but WINNING is always more fun.

Player... just a player. Hallelujah, I'M ONLY A PLAYER!!
No he didn't, however he did convince our FG team to let them through untouched on a PAT and block it. tisk tisk...
Its been a really long time since I have been in a game with as much back and forth (physically and verbally) that emotions just get the best of both teams. Reminded me of a couple Rhino Raider games and Bear games from the years past. Saturday was most definitely a dog fight.
I am interested to see how the playoff format fills out in the coming weeks... Logan could surprise some folks.
