Only in the AAA RMFL can a team have 1st and goal on the 5 yard line in triple overtime with a chance to win and end up with 2 personal foul penalties, give up a 12 yard sack and lose the game trying to kick a 51 yard field goal for the win which gets returned 99 yards the other way by a 43 year old free safety for the 'ship.
Only in the AAA RMFL can a QB, Diarra Fields, come off the bench in the 2nd half of a game and go 10/12 with 3 touchdowns and throw the game winner with :08 left.... after the opposing team had scored with 2:08 left to "seal" the game.
Only in the AAA RMFL can a QB, Jordan Kjar, pick up a snap that was shot over his head, run aroud like Sonic the Hedgehog, then throw a 40 yard bomb to a WR for a TD to put the game away.
Only in the AAA RMFL can a 1-6 "Montana" team, with "nothing to play for" win on the road at Granger HS vs. the best 1-6 team EVER for the season finale. Then turn around and that same Montana team MAKES the playoffs because Boise folded. Just goes to show you, NEVER EVER QUIT. (That's just for you Mudd Ducks - you coulda woulda shoulda had a chance to play spoiler)
Only in the AAA RMFL can the #3 seed "upset" the #2 seed in the semi-finals because of 8 turnovers.
Only in the AAA RMFL can the #4 seed "upset" the #1 seed in the semi-finals because of NO turnovers.
Only in the AAA RMFL can a team have 55 men suited up and ready to play in the home opener and then have only 23 men travel on an extended road trip for a game. Of course, the other 32 men had "other things" that were "more important".
Only in the AAA RMFL can a man named "Follower" become somebody who's opinion people actually cared about... because he had something credible to say and stood behind his opinions with FACTS and strong analysis.
Only in the AAA RMFL can a GM kicker pass the torch on to his younger brother only to watch in agony as younger brother misses a 27 yard field goal in 2nd overtime that "coulda woulda shoulda" won the 'ship for his "former" teammates.
Only in the AAA RMFL can a washed up 35 year old QB get a chance to throw the ball around and enjoy listening to the rancor and vile foolishness of a WR say, "Dude! I'm wide open! Did you see how wide open I was?!?!?!" as the pass was completed to another player for a 12 yard gain and a 1st down.
Only in the AAA RMFL can a group of old, fat, slow and out of shape men compete in a real live football game with NO PRACTICE. Think about how ridiculous that is in it's own right.... football with NO PRACTICE!!?!?! What are you Friggin' Crazy????
Only in the AAA RMFL..... can fierce on field rivals turn into off the field friends when men allow themselves to take a step back and actually look at the big picture. It's more than just about "wins and losses" and "who wins the 'ship". (Don't get me wrong, when I'm on the field playing I want to take your heart out of your chest while it's still beating, throw it on the ground with everything I have, and then jump on it for good measure.) At the end of the day, when the game's over - how fun is it to look back and say, "holy crap, did you SEE that hit?" - or even better, "What was HE thinking?" It's the STORY that matters... it's LIFE that matters.
Chuck, I know you are feeling like Saturday was a disappointing ending, but ya gotta get your facts straight.
We went for it on 4th down on the 2 yd & 13 yd line in FIRST half instead of kicking 2 FG's. We didn't convert either. Could have been the difference.
My little brother kicked all throughout the playoffs, and was good enough to be the player of the game in the Semi's against the Rebels. His performance helped him get a scholarship offer from Dixie State the following Monday. I didn't need to suit up, he was perfectly capable.
The first FG was 42 yds, and yes he did miss it left. The attempt at the game winner was 55 yds and the snapper (our starting LB who had played the whole game plus 3 OT's) was exhausted and bowled the snap back to the holder. In retrospect, the holder should have just fell on the ball and went to 4 OT.
And yes, Solo, Charlie, and Lange......ONE MORE YEAR
I, for one, hope the 'Dors and Blaze make the jump. After that game on Saturday, we both belong up with the big boys!! I am, unfortunately just a player and do not call the shots, though.
Let me just say that was the toughest game I have played in this league... you guys brought everything you could and if it wasn't for Mr. SPEED himself taking that thing the length of the field...I dont know what a 4th OT would have brought. I thought it was over when we failed to convert our 4th down attempt in 3OT. why not just kick it?!?!? :-S and let defense try to hold.
Im proud to have played in that game against a great team. I feel the same as CP mentioned

That was a hell of a game, Im still sore and banged up. to all the Rev... keep your heads up, you all battled hard and I cant think of a more fun way to have played for a title!
Solo - Great game!
Lang - you weren't in on that 2pt conversion (LOL)
Brace, I hope you guys jump up as well.. The AA is a fun league, but there is something special about playing in the AAA. its a different game, a different feeling, and the friendships made are worth it.. And there is no reason you couldn't compete as well.. If we learned anything this year in AAA its that nobody is guaranteed anything, any team can win and every saturday counts.
Best day of my life...I got to see my daughter be born at 6:30am that Saturday morning...holding her all afternoon and winning the biggest game of the year...
