I'll take a stab at this. This is what I'm hearing. This is purely what I hear, so if it isn't accurate, then maybe someone in the know can clear it up:
Treasure Valley Spartans are folding.
Utah Shock; after once again coming close to a AAA championship, are reconsidering folding up shop. May not be Kyto running it however.
Snake River is rumored to be folding, then I heard that many of the defensive players that left after their runner-up champ season(2011) were going to return. So I don't know which it is.
Magic Valley Bulldawgs will be returning to AA
I talked with several Bitteroot Blaze players at the championship game , and they were unsure if that team was returning at all. We'll all have to wait and see on that.
The Matadors are on solid ground but are taking a wait and see approach on what develops in the league before deciding whether or not to move up to AAA or remain AA.
It appears after listening to the Guardians head man that he plans on returning.
The Generals will be returning.
I haven't heard of any other teams folding, nor have I heard of any new teams planning on applying to the league.
One other note. There is a new 11 man contact football league planning on starting up in the Treasure Valley (Boise Area) next spring (2013). This league will be local only and will involve no travel. Games will be played on the same two or three fields they claim to have secured
If that Boise league is true, it would be great to have it flourish for a year or two so we can recruit new players, coaches, and new venues. But after a year I hope it would diminish so it does not steal players within our league. I know the 8 man league in Boise has taken or shyed recruits away from The RMFL.
