The off season has been kind of a yawner. Nothing major to really look forward to at the meetings.
From the sound of things the AAA is set with 6 teams, with one of them being questionable being in AAA. Not going name any names of purple teams that should be AA.
Looks like there is only one team to vote on that applied in Denver. But is that a really good location to add right now. 8 hours from every team but Uintah equals increased chance of a forfeit which makes me wonder why the Executive Board is even considering just one team.
With the AAA "being set", does that mean Bitterroot isn't moving up or isn't being forced up like Great Falls was and is Great Falls being moved back down even though they made the playoffs through the back door?
I, for one, am looking forward to the meetings and hopefully there will be updates here or somewhere.
Haha that purple team should be AA huh... That's fine we didn't do well last season but made the playoffs the season before but should be AA. It's nice to see deserved picked up where the follower left off.. Nothing new on being criticized. And all of our losses last year were ones we choked on. And when reviews come out I predict that deserved will come start it out by having us be considered for AA, then he will say we can't compete, and then he will finish by saying we are going to finish dead last and moved down to AA next year... And I look forward to all of it... That's why we play.
Venom without intelligence? Let's just state some facts...
Mudd Ducks will miss the playoffs in the UUIFA. 2 games behind the Vipers!
Mudd Ducks finished in the 8 spot last year. Old playoff format and they are in the playoffs.
Mudd Ducks make playoffs and are 7 seed in 2011, teams first year. Congrats! But got worked by Rev. Arco is 8 seed, drops to AA is 8 seed in 2012 playoffs and lose in first round.
Haha brought out the uuifa? Now that's just desperate.. I could care less what our record is on indoor. We is that to just stay runnin around and try new players out. But if that works for your arsenal then so be it. We made playoffs cause there was more trams in AAA couple years ago. We missed last year cause we couldn't close out close games ( except shock and rebels we got WORKED). Soapy if, ands, or buts to say what could be should be it might have been that we just have to move forward and focus on this year. AAA is the same format... Two things that have changed this year is.. New year and a new anonymous guy writing articles.... League meetings should be interesting.
There are too many teams to count who have earned playing in the AAA that have declined, yet the Ducks hold their own and are certainly worthy & willing to compete each week. Good for them.
Sure does... why incur unnecessary risks to players' health well before the season? The air alone has my whole neighborhood sounding like a Barry White impersonator convention. It's actually kind of tense... Barry White doesn't represent the popular culture in my neighborhood so people are turning on each other and performing acts of self-mutilation.
And Deserved... my man... please please PLEASE don't use the UUIFA season as supporting evidence about RMFL predictions (says the dead last place Logan Bulls guy who can't catch Thurber's passes). You're talking about a very small cross-section of the RMFL team with which they're affiliated and often, it's not even the same players. Some come and some go between indoor and outdoor seasons. I don't think the UUIFA Mudducks are any more representative of the RMFL Mudducks than the UUIFA Vipers or the UUIFA Bulls (Stampede) are of theirs.
If the Mudducks have the sacks to stay AAA, that alone speaks volumes about how they stand above teams that are capable but don't or won't even try... why dog them?

Buckie told me last week that the Blaze were likely not returning for 2013. This is due to a variety of reasons, and once official (which it isn't at this point), we will issue a press release on the front page.
In addition to the team in Denver, we've also received an application from a new Knights team in Kalispell. Our regional director, Rajiem Seabrook, is supposed to be meeting with them face-to-face this week. They appear to have everything ready to go for the meeting, but need to pass our due-dilligence before they'll be invited to apply to the Managing Board.
We did have a meeting with all of the AAA GMs about the team in Denver (the DC Reign). The Reign are a very good team and applied to play in the AAA Division. I however had concerns about adding one geographically remote team to the RMFL. Even though they are a good team, I don't think it's in the league's (AA or AAA) best interest to add them as a stand-alone team. We are however trying to set up an exhibition game with them and one of our teams either during the Stars & Stripes weekend or as a pre-season game.
With Bitterroot and Treasure Valley folding and Magic Valley moving down to AA, we have forumulated a six team AAA Division where they will play a 10 game season (playing each other team once home and away) and the Gladiators will move back down to AA. This isn't official, and we'll have other options (including no divisions at all) that the Managing Board can vote on, but I think we've done a lot of legwork to create the best situation for all of the teams in the RMFL.
Finally, in regards to the Mudd Ducks. I actually mentioned this on Saturday night at one of my indoor games to players from both the Stealth and Rev. They immediately brought up the games mentioned by Golden above. I think it's safe to say that the members of the AAA feel that the Mudd Ducks belong, and I also agree with Kyto that they will only be better this year with the Garcia team on board.
I'm obviously biased, and a bit of an RMFL geek, but I'm really excited about the league meeting and the 2013 season.
I suppose if you're only planning on playing when it's sunny and 72 then that'll work great. I just hope for your sake there aren't any forest fires thunder storms come gameday becasue you might need to cancel the game. Either that or wear SARS masks under your helmets. Talk to Kyto, he might have some of those laying around.

I said UNNECESSARY health risks well BEFORE the season. I gather from your rugged toughness that you are a star on a winning AAA team. I'd look it up myself but alas, you have an anonymous alias.

I'm not the star of a AAA winning team. I'm actually an underachiever in every way.
Cancel a practice because of a whiteout, lightning storms, nuclear attack, fine. But to cancel because it's below freezing and smoggy?....Come on now. I can't be the only one that thinks that's kind of silly.
Are you kidding me. You'd be lucky to get me to practice in May let alone January!!! Man I'd cancel practice any day it wasn't 50 degrees. Whether or not I play in sunny weather or cold I choose not to practice in it. Can't believe colleges have indoor facilities to practice in when they could simply get used to the weather being cold
