So I know this is way too far out in advance but thought it would be an interesting topic. If no one folds and we don't move anyone up, this is who would play each other next year in AAA.
I realize that a lot of people have problems with how the league is set up right now but I think this is pretty dang good and I am giving props to all the admin that put this in place.
If this is the likely schedule you can count the Rebels out. We got shafted this year with the seeding and scheduling and we won't let it happen again. Any schedule that has us playing both a Montana and Idaho team will not fly. What the league fails to realize is that every away game for us is very expensive and time consuming. We don't just drive to another part of town and play a team at their field, our closest away game is over 300 miles away! The cost to our team is exorbitant. We will not be traveling farther than Salt Lake next year or we will be in a different league playing teams in Las Vegas.
So if you don't get your way you'll quit? So you're planning on holding the league hostage? How do you expect anyone to be willing to work with you on the issue if your starting g position is "my way or I'm going home?"
I would assume one of those 2 games would be at home BUT why even talk about that now? Its next year and all hypothetical. Its just an example of how things ended up this year and could look. I'm just saying.

Would this conversation even be happening had the Rebels won on Saturday?
The Rebels, just like the Shock voted on the structure and seeding. Yup, voted on and passed. I'm 1-7 and sitting at home, no playoffs for me after being in the semi-finals at the minimum for 6 years straight. It is what it is.
Now riddle me this, the Shock traveled close to 400 more miles than any other team EXCEPT Dixie. But Dixie has always been in the outskirts. They knew that when they joined the league in 2009. The main reason the Dixie Heat, who then became the St. George Blitz, who then became the Dixie Rebels joined the RMFL is because of the level of competition and organization in the Vegas leagues. They were stomping people out and they just didn't like it.
Now, the travel is too much? It's unfair that you got a 5 seed? It sucks, I agree, but I voted for it. So my team, have to live with it.
I don't think the league doesn't realize how much it costs or how time consuming it is for teams on the outskirts, I'm pretty sure they are aware of it. We dealt with it in 2008 and 2009 when Missoula and Bitterroot were both a part of the league and had to budget close to if not over $35,000 a year. I don't think the league is at fault.
It sucks, but didn't the Cobras give up a home game for the Rebels to have an extra home game? Did someone forget about that? Or how about the fact that had the Rebels won, they wouldn't have to travel this week to Arco, possibly next week to Brigham, and then the week after that to Salt Lake. Hell, I don't even play for Dixie and I knew that.
I was planning a trip to Laurel next weekend before we played the Stealth, JUST IN CASE. And I'm pretty sure I made it clear to my team that if you win ball games, you don't travel.
Coach, I have nothing but love and respect for you, your team, but really? Four days after the regular season and the Rebels aren't coming back because of a HYPOTHETICAL schedule?
Here's some advice, take it or leave it.
How about working something out where one of your "road" games can be played in like Cedar or something? Ever thought of that? The Shock gave up a home game and met Bitterroot in Idaho Falls, because.. well they asked. And I like those guys. You think of that scenario?
Or maybe you start to fundraise knowing what the schedule MAY be like? Those Montana teams are pretty spread out too, it's not like Salt Lake, don't think you're the own outlying team in the RMFL.
And last, if you really do take your ball and go home, please do your research on those Vegas leagues. You really want have the DIXIE REBELS play their games at Freedom Park? Against teams without the organization of the RMFL teams? You want fans on the sidelines drinking beer and smoking? That's what you want?
If you do leave, go to the Labelle League at least, that's where the Vegas Trojans are, but then again you'll be traveling to SoCal constantly, and how much does it cost to join that league?
Research.
You're mad, I get it. #5 for losing to the #1 team? It sucks. It happened. But guess what THE GUYS YOU COACH FOR voted FOR it. SO NOW YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT.
It is what it is, but if you're the decision maker and that's your decision, once you leave, don't expect to get a warm welcome back.

Dstott,
Are you kidding me? You don't get your way so you cry about it? Wow. I bet Wayne, Andy and Sarge are sure glad they sold the team to a turd like you.
I've been in this league for over 9 yrs and around the 6 yrs the Heat/blitz/rebels have been in the league I havent ever heard anything from them like the garbage that just came out of your mouth. The STG team has always made it work now you a coach/owner that has been in the league not even a year is threatening the league to leave. Bye, bye.
From what I understand the team in St George has always known and voted on the league issues including this year. You may want to get a history lesson from a veteran or two on your team.
I'm pretty sure the whole "stiff arm" tactic doesn't work anymore. I would just plan on playing in that A division thug league from Las Vegas.
I think I can safely say that you just lost a lot of respect from a majority of the players in the league.
When did Dixie go to Montana? The league has always catered to Dixie with neutral site games with GF and this is how they get treated?!? Brad, Jess and Sarge need to hold their ground with this clown. If he is really thinking about leaving, let him go. This league is bigger than the Dixie Rebels. But what do I know, I'm just an anonymous jackwagon with nothing better to do than watch games.
Everyone step off the ledge. That was probably just a knee jerk reaction and there is no need to start slinging mud. Turd? Really? Why are we discussing next year's schedule already anyway? How about finishing this year first. Geez Jess, you have too much time on your hands! And I'm sure the schedule would be one of the games in Idaho or Montana, the other at home. Good luck everyone this weekend!
Also of note is that the Great Falls team is the extreme other end of the league. Based off of rough calculations lets compare you're away games with theirs.
Dixie traveled a total of 3090 miles. playing in SLC 3 times and in Boise once.
Great Falls traveled 3032 and played in Boise, Billings, Missoula, and SLC.
I haven't heard one person from GF team on this board crying about the travel. Say it for what it is, you're mad about the way you got seeded. I agree. Two of the top 3 teams will be traveling all through the playoffs. That's what was voted on. read the other forum thread and you'll see that the seeding post season needs to be addressed.
As far as expenses go, you're right, traveling is expensive. However, St George has something nobody in the SLC market has.... You guys have the entire area to yourselves!!!! That means you don't have to share potential fan base, sponsors etc with other teams which means more opportunity for money and more players to pick from.
Please just say you're pissed that you got seeded #5, and don't cry and say you're gonna hold the league hostage if that's you're schedule. If you guys had won in overtime, then you would be sitting home for the next three weeks and you never would have said a thing!!! ....Now, go do work and make the playoffs count. Plus, aside from travel you have the easiest road to the ship which you could potentially host if 5 & 6 rematch from last year.
Just want to throw in my two cents. Havent been on here in awhile but for some reason they keep sending me these stupid "email digest" crap to my email, so every once in awhile I take a sec to read. LOL!
Anyhow, I wanted to comment on the situation at hand. I 100% percent agree with Eric Drage ( I know its hard to believe that I actually agree with a "Rev" guy lol) but its kind of sad that you guys start stoning a guy for making a comment. Does he sound a little frustrated and mad? No doubt! Who wouldnt be? Now some of you took a higher road and offered alternatives and played out scenarios for them to ponder on. So that was great! But come on guys, their are only about 3 GM's in this league that I perosnally know of that can handle and deal with what we deal with down here in St. George. Most teams would have folded for many reasons and money not being one of them. Trust me with that!
Just crazy how everyone becomes extremist about the situation. You ask and say that Dr. Stott needs to do his Homework? Well have you guys done yours? Coach Stott is a vital piece to this organization. He has breathed new life into this team and does more than any of you know! Trust me! Coach Stott has done an amazing job as a first year guy and I believe that with him at the Helm this organization and league can grow tremendously. Dont persecute when you dont know the whole story!
Just call Phil and Shaun and talk to them and do your HW!
Should have known Drage would take the high road, he was on the winning side last weekend. LOL! If not he might have been saying what Coach Stott said. Just jokes! Drage is a good dude because he is a BYU guy. But I would have taken Charlie Pete for a UTAH guy. hahahahahaha
Should just erase the is post all together. Absolutely no reason why we should be thinking about next years schedule. Still have a whole post season to worry about.
That should say Dixie Rebels #77 now lol! See I get no respect as a former owner lol

Why not do conferences for AAA? Northern Conference consisting of Montana and Idaho, Southern Conference consisting of all AAA Utah teams. Keep two divisions in each conference, play everyone in your division twice, play a team in the other division once, and play a team in the other conference once. Travel to Montana than the next year travel to Idaho. The following two seasons a Montana team and an Idaho team travel to you. When you travel to a Montana or Idaho team the other division travels to you. When the playoffs come around you will have less travel for most teams. The playoffs would have to extend one week for AAA but that's okay since they like all the attention on them and not on us lowly AA teams. Just an idea. This is only my second year in the league so I'm unaware if this has been tried before.
Can't we push for more league wide sponsors to soften the blow for "outskirt teams"? Example. Take into consideration an average amount of travel budget for the league overall, Anything cost wise over that the league steps in and covers gas cost, rental van costs, etc. If we had more of an overall push for league sponsors and not just team sponsors to cover costs, it would help any team with extreme travel conditions. I know this is all based off actually getting sponsors, but a sponsor may be more willing to write off a 1k, 2k, 5k dollar check if he knew his product was being advertised on 30 different websites, however many team shirts, game programs and announcements at 100+ games, etc etc. Just throwing out ideas to strengthen the league as a whole...and not just a few individual teams. (and yes I am well aware this has all been thought of before, but maybe we need to re-approach it)?

In my two years playing in the league I had to travel 225 miles (one way) for home games and practice. If you want to play in the RMFL travel just comes with the deal, if you don't want to travel stay home and play Madden. I think this year has been the best year for the league with the current structure.
The place to start for league sponsors are items that we already use: uniforms, travel, hotels, printing, websites, etc. I would love nothing more than to have one "Preferred Provider" for each of these. Not only would it potentially give teams price breaks through size of scale, it would provide a lot more uniformity within the league. Imagine if we had one designer that designed every team's logo and website and facebook page so they all had the same look and feel. Imagine if we had a game day program for every team with a handful of league-wide sponsors and then pages each team could fill in with their own roster and local sponsors. Imagine if every team had the same quality of uniform so that the only difference from one team to another was the team colors and logos.
If we got to that point, I could go to Pepsi or Subway or Hampton and promise them gameday advertising in 24 markets across four states--even if that's only 200 people per game, times 12, that's 2400 people/week for 8 weeks. Maybe we couldn't even get money, but some subway cards for players to use when they're traveling to away games. Or a 10% discount on hotel rooms. Unfortunately, we can't even get all 24 teams to have matching uniforms on their own team. Not all 24 teams currently have working websites. We can't even get all 24 teams to film their own games. Let alone be willing to have uniformity from one team to another.
In my fantasy world, a new team that is accepted to the RMFL would pick their colors and mascot/logo and pay a uniform fee to have uniforms designed and manufactured for them from the RMFL uniform provider. Their website would be created for them and they would just have to input the roster and local information for thier team, and some of the local sponsors that would get advertising. They would also plug in their team information and local sponsors into a game day program and how many programs they would like to order for their home games at the beginning of the season from the league's printing provider. When they have away games, they would call up Enterprise (or whoever the league provider is) and let them know how many vans they need and what dates they need them. I know it sounds crazy, but I think it's possible.
There is potential, but ALL of the GMs would have to buy into it to make it work. Financially, GMs would have to be reliable and trustworthy to follow through on their contracts. While I believe the end product would be significantly better, it would require some work for all the GMs and A LOT of work for some of the GMs that struggle to meet the minimum league requirements--and that's the challenge. We have some teams that do A LOT of work to make their team true semi-professional; but we also have some teams that just do what it takes to get by each week or each year. We've tried hard as a league to enforce a "minimum standard" for each team; but to get leauge-wide sponsors, that minimum standard would have to be raised quite a bit.
I COULD EASILY AND WOULD DEFINITELY DESIGN A WEBSITE TEMPLATE (FREE OF CHARGE). I HAVE BEEN USING WIX.COM FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS AND IT'S VERY EASY AND SIMPLE TO USE. YOU CAN LOOK AT THE UTAH COBRAS WEBSITE FROM A COUPLE YEARS AGO..... WWW.WIX.COM/THEUTAHCOBRAS/2012 . IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT INTENSE BUT JUST AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT YOU CAN GET FOR "FREE" IF YOU TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF TIME. ALL I WOULD HAVE TO DO IS PLUG IN YOUR INFORMATION, PICTURES AND/OR INFORMATION ONCE THE TEMPLATE IS CREATED. FOR A MINIMAL FEE, I WOULD DO THIS FOR ALL OF THE TEAMS. I MENTIONED THIS A FEW YEARS AGO BUT IT NEVER TOOK OFF. IT WOULD MAKE THE VARIATION IN THE QUALITY OF WEBSITES GO AWAY...AND IT WOULD BE FREE.
I CAN EASILY GET A PRINTING DEAL IF WE ALL USE THEM. I PRINT MEDIA STUFF A LOT AND WITH THE RMFL ADDING TO MY ORDERS, I'M SURE I COULD GET A GREAT DISCOUNT. EVEN IF WE JUST PRINT OUR FLYERS AND / OR MEDIA GUIDES FOR THE GAMES. I COULD ALSO DESIGN A TEMPLATE FOR THE MEDIA GUIDES AND CHARGE A MINIMAL FEE TO PUT ALL THE DIFFERENT TEAMS' INFORMATION ON IT. IT WOULD MAKE THE LEAGUE MORE UNIFORM AND ADD TO THE EXPERIENCE OF THE GAMES.
I CAN ALSO DESIGN LOGOS AND I DO IT ALL DAY / EVERY DAY. ANYONE THAT WANTS TO SEE MY PORTFOLIO, LET ME KNOW.
