Bryant Eteuati MVP - "Mr. Ooose Kill em"

I read a couple posts about "MVP" votes and because I know how subjective and ridiculous the voting process is for some of the owners/GM's out there, I thought it important to give kudos to the guy who is most deserving of this award for 2014 - HANDS DOWN.  Bryant Eteuati has my vote for MVP.

Let's look at some statistics.

Here are the top 3 league leaders in receiving in 2012:

Brandon BalserMuddducks386756417.88
Andy StokesRebels315304017.1

Here are the top 3 league leaders in receiving in 2013:

Joe MapsonRevolution516715113.28

Here are the top 4 league leaders in receiving (# of receptions) in 2014:

Joe MapsonRevolution345546916.37

Now let's look at some Special Teams statistics from the past 3 years.

Top 3 Punt Returners 2012:

Top 3 Punt Returners 2013:

Bryant EteuatiRevolution422691563

I mention the special teams because Bryant's punt returns against our opponents basically broke their backs at key points in the game which led to REV victories. He AVERAGED 56 yards per punt return - 56!!! Are you serious? Special teams are 1/3 of the game, so it's critical to note the impact it has on the game.  **It's also interesting to note also that this year's Top 3 Punt Returners are WAY HIGHER than any successes in punt returns from 2012 & 2013.

**Oh heck with all this bull crap analysis puke - just watch these Youtube Clips!!!  This guy is RIDICULOUS.

His ST effort is just crazy. Sure, some dudes have more yards but Bryant SCORED TDs on 3/4 of his returns! 75% TD ETURN RATE, PEOPLE! And like Chuck "The only QB I've ever played for that was willing to block on a run play" Peterson said, they were all, but one, in HUGELY CRITICAL times.

Then you add his receptions on top of that. Forget about it.

While I'm sure most of it is the play calling, but I must say Bryant is very unselfish and makes such timely plays. Imagine if he returned more kicks! Guess our D needs to get some stops once in a while! lol I've had the privilege of coaching some of the best receivers the league has ever seen: Bryant, Joe Mapson, Toby Christensen, Ryan Lang, Trevor Jensen and that's just this year's team! I'm very fortunate and like the greatest DC the league has ever had, THE Everest Matagi, said often, great players make coaches better than they are, or something to that effect. Go Blaze and Anarchy!  biggrin

#7 definitely tore us up.

I can agree with that.

Just want to throw some props to the Rev and Rebels Olinemen. They were head and shoulders above the other teams I played against.

I will speak from someone who is directly affected by Mr. Eteuati. He is by far the ONLY guy I purposely try to kick away from. Last year when the Shock traveled and beat the Rev, He did NOT touch the ball on special teams once. The games he HAS touched the ball...they have won (against us anyhow). And MORE TIMES then I like to admit, it's because of the field position this guy gives his offense. You simply CAN NOT kick it to him unless you have 10 sure handed tacklers on the field. And truth be told, I don;t think there is a single team in the league that fields 10-11 guys at once that ALL are sure handed tacklers. THat all being said, plain and simple truth is DO NOT KICK TO THIS GUY....

This year Bryant has put forth more effort and focus in his game and team then I have seen in years... I tip my hat to him. He is more then deserving this year of Getting that MVP nod. IMO
