I've been in the league for 8 years now. I've made a lot of friends doing what we do. I thought this would be a good place to officially announce that I am withdrawing my responsibilities to the league as a board member, as a team owner and general manager. I can't thank the league enough for my time spent here, and their efforts to allow us to compete at our level.
My leadership abilities have been declining and I am passing the team on to people who I believe will bring value to the team. Miguel Semintal will be taking over responsibilities of the Mini-Cassia Diggers. He has been a part of the team since the first day, and has the work ethic to advance the team further than what I have. I would like all members to be fully aware that I am passing on a team that is completely debt free, and as of right now owes nobody.
Through my years as a player and as an owner, I have only missed 2 games, and both were due to weddings. Although my record as an owner is not sturdy, I can say that through my efforts as an owner, I have created the opportunities of many friendships and multiple marriages, and these are things that endure.
Because of my staunch stances with league issues, I'm sure many are celebrating my departure, and I cannot blame those for that. My attitude was always intense, and I was always easily fired up. I'm sure that I have come across as a jackass to many of you, but rest assured, I enjoyed all of the memories I have of you guys.
My main concerns in my life right now consist of my faith, my family, and my occupations. I wish you all the best, and will be watching from a distance.
Kit, I for one am sorry to see you leave. But it comes as no surprise to me because I remember chatting briefly with you at the league meeting last year, and you indicated that you were about burned out. It's been great to make an acquaintance with someone who seems to share many of my values as well as our passion for football. I've never had any issue with the way you ran the Digger organization, and I for one know the challenges of running a team, as well as the demands it places on an individual and his family. So no one can be perfect when it comes to running an RMFL team. I am glad you have a member of the team willing to step up and take over. Take care my friend, and I wish you and your family all the best.
