On to week 2, to see who improves their schedule, and who digs a deeper hole for themselves...
AAA
Rev @ Lionzszsszs
The Rev are a great team, no one can deny this. There is a reason that they won the 'ship last year. From what I hear, they have also picked up some new guys that have only helped them to improve their roster and depth. This will be a very tough team to beat this season.
The Lionz have come out this season in force, showing us in the pre-season that they WILL be a force to be reckoned with this season. The Blitz, I mean the Rebels, I mean the Lions, I mean the Lionz have always been a good team. Along with the Rev, they are one of those 'Dynasty' teams you hear about. Anytime these 2 teams face off, its a good game, and anyone's guess who will win.
Rev 21 Lions 20
Stealth @ Mustangs
The Stealth are, by everyone's standards and rankings a 'POWER 4' team. They have earned that title over the past few years, when they won the 'ship two years in a row. Apparently they lost a few play makers this season to the Rev and Shock. I don't think this means the Mustangs can take them lightly.
The Mustangs have picked up some new talent this year, and are hoping to put up a good fight against the Stealth. The Mustangs are generally pretty good at home. They are moving back to Ravsten Stadium where, according to Jeb Harrison, have never lost a game there. Can the Mustangs keep the streak alive? With the Stealth travel well?
Shock @ Bulldawgs
The Shock are hoping to do better than they did last year (1-7), which shouldn't be too hard. They put a whooping on the Cobras last week. And are hoping to take that momentum the rest of the season. The Shock have a history of traveling light, but the ones that do show up are the ones that win games.
The Bulldawgs had a great game last week against the Anarchy. They showed that they are a pretty good second half team this year. They look to carry that momentum on to the Shock this year.
The Shock want to prove they are not the same team as last year that competed with everyone, but lost all but one of their games.
Shock 28 Bulldawgs 14
Sting @ Cobras
Both of these teams are coming off of losses to 'Power 4' Teams. They are both coming in to this game to try and improve to 1-1. I don't know much about the Cobras, or the Sting. I think this could be a pretty good game.
Sting 14 Cobras 10
Vipers @ Anarchy
The Vipers are a strong team. They won the AA 'ship last year and are still riding that thunder. Unfortunately for them they are in AAA now, and need to start playing hungry again.
The Anarchy showed us last week that they are not the team they were last year that hosted in the playoffs. They are looking to prove this week that they are better than what anyone is giving them credit for. I just don't see the Vipers losing this one.
Vipers 14 Anarchy 10
Matadors @ Loco Express
The 'Dors have always been a good team. I really don't know much about the team, since I really haven't played them for 2 years. They play hard, and make great game-time changes to win the game. Unfortunately, their Kryptonite in the past has been Montana teams. They seem to struggle vs MT teams.
I had the Locos ranked at the top of the Norther Conference going into this season, thinking that with the teams folding in MT they would pick up some good players. I was shocked to see the score vs the Gladiators. Did the Gladiators get better? Or did the Locos get worse? I guess we'll find out Saturday when they host the Matadors.
Matadors 14 Locos 15
Gladiators @ Snowdevils
Once again, I don't know if the Glads got better or the Locos got worse...
The Snowdevils picked up some guys from the Blaze which did little to help against the Mustangs last week, as it was the same qb throwing to the same receivers from last year that got them all their yards. I think the Snowdevils take this one and move to 2-0.
Gladiators 6 Snowdevils 14
AA
Oilers @ Guardians
The Oilers are the power team in AA. They are the team to beat. Unfortunately the Guardians are no the team to beat them.
Oilers 30 Guardians 0
Diggers @ Outlaws
I see the Diggers struggling this season. I had higher hopes for them last season, but they let me down. And I don't know that they have picked up any new talent. The Outlaws showed that they are going to be a good team in AA with a close loss to the Oilers last week.
