1.Lions (3-0) – Much needed rest week for the Lions after a stretch of five games. After beating the defending champs, the Lions now look to make sure everyone has to travel down to the Sun Bowl in June. Take on a young Shock team this week, could be their last real test of the year.
2.Revolution (2-1) – Two longest road games out of the way, game against the Stealth this week could determine seeding later in the year. By the look of the things, someone has woken up the beast.
3.Utah Shock (3-0) – Tough stretch ahead as they face off against the Lions, Stealth and Rev. These three games will determine who the cream of the crop of the Southern division really is.
4.Laurel Loco Express (2-1) – Adding QB Shane Jurasek only locks in how good they are in the North. They learned the difference between being the top of the MT division and being on top of the RMFL. The RevoUsos ran a train on the Loco Express last week. Jurasek shows up after the Rev game? Scared?
5.Brigham Sting (1-1) – Idle last week, let’s hope they don’t let the long travel get the best of them this week. I don’t see Thurber losing in Great Falls.
6.Idaho Mustangs (2-1) – Closer than expected game against the Anarchy but didn’t expect less in the Eastern Idaho rivalry game. Have a huge game this week that could very well determine a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Loco Express just took a beating, can the Stangs keep kickin’ while their down?
7.Gallatin Valley Snow Devils (1-1) – Also idle last week, travel game to Magic Valley where they could very well cement the best teams in the North are in Montana. JJ and Co. need a big road win this week.
8.Stealth (1-1) – Schedule conflict last weekend prevented them from a game. I don’t know if it’ll help or hurt them, but I do know the Rev is still pissed about their game down in Dixie. A rematch of the 2012 championship game but with a ton of different faces and similar faces. Expect a great game as this is two of the top 4 teams despite the rankings.
9.Great Falls Gladiators (2-1) – The Gladiators are tough defensively but rely heavily on a few people on offense. They need to stay tough on defense or else an old familiar face who was a part of those glory days in Great Falls, will make them regret never retiring his number.
10.Magic Valley Bulldawgs (1-2)– Tough loss, but expected in a travel game. The game was close, but the Dawgs need to learn how to close out those close games. The northern division will always have close games, so in order for the Dawgs to compete for the ship instead of a bowl game, they must close out. I see a Verwey vs Dorsch shootout this week, can the Dawgs stop Kurschner? Can the Devils stop Cook?
11.Vipers (1-2) – I have to admit this Vipers team is only an offensive line away from being a decent team. Schyler Sherwood is a good enough athlete to win balls games in this division, but you can’t win ball games when you don’t have time to throw. Or---if you don’t have a line that create a hole. Vipers must utilize Stireman (the Great One’s kin) and they may just surprise some teams.
12.Logan Stampede (1-1) – Elder Jenkins made his return, so no surprise they won this week. Key now is how often he shows up. Big game against the Vipers that could have late season implications.
13.Idaho Matadors (0-2) –Tough loss at home—Dors country is quiet. So I’ll let them figure it out.
14.Arco/Blackfoot Anarchy (0-3) – Hung tough, but could get a victory here against a spiraling downward Matadors team.
15.Cobras – Hi Leon.
Stay healthy and good luck to everyone this week!
RMFL AA Rankings
1.Nevada Warriors – My homer pick. Next two games are key -- for me to be partying with you guys at the Jamboree and an Elko home playoff game. Don’t let me down.
2.Mini Cassia Diggers – No one (including me) gave you a chance to be here. Win this week and you’ll have the Warriors and Oilers scrambling to make travel plans in June.
3.Uintah Basin Oilers – Travel games has and always will be the key for this team to make a deep run. A week off before hosting the #1 Warriors—study up.
4.Wyoming Outlaws – Glad to see you got some points on the board. Only ranked you higher than the Guardians because you’ve scored more… by one.
5.Gem State Guardians – Being 4th is better than being 5th. Win and I’ll put you there. And if you win--- you guys better start a damn riot.
So I took a little time and ranked all the AAA teams by the stats. It is sorted the best overall team to the worst.
