I don't know if anyone cares, but I have created a spreadsheet with fantasy type scores to help give some kind of comparison between players. It works better for the Offensive players but I think it still works pretty well for defensive players.
I will update my spreadsheets and provide the information each week if people think its interesting.
Please give feedback, I can easily change category values if people think they are wrong. These scores are base on the stats posted before last weekends games.
For Defense I have given:
1 pt for Tackles and pass deflections - most common, stops the play
2 pt for TFL, Fumble, Fumble recovery - loss of yardage, possible loss of possession, gaining possession
3 pt for Sack, Block Kick, and Safety - More difficult, either stops points or earns pts
4 pt for Int - basically the same points as causing and recovering a fumble
6 pt for TD - Because it it a TD!
I have added the average of all games to Lions players to make up for Forfeit, not fair for them to lose points because of forfeit.
My current top ten in this format is:
Defensive Players
Hebdon (Vipers) 111.5, Eyre (Rev) 105.5, D Johnson(Rev) 87, Hofmann(Loco) 82, B Thompson (Lions) 62.5 +10.4=72.9, Coon(Anarchy)71, Messinger(Sting)66.5, V Feula(Lions)57+9.5=66.5, Criswell(Sting) 63.5, Rominger(Gladiators) 59.
Offensive point are scored as follows:
1 pt for every 10yds Rushing, Receiving or Return yards
6 pts for every TD Rushing, Receiving or Return
1 pt for every 25 yards passing
3 pts for each passing TD
Passing yards and TDs are different because generally 100 yards for a RB or Rec is considered equal to 300 yard passing for QB, I actually lowered it to 250 yard, and I looked at previous years in the league and the best RBs/Receivers had around 10 TD, QBs had around 20. I think it makes sense, but others may not.
Top Offensive players are(No return yards or TDs):
Edit - I forgot to give Tupe the ave points of his games to make up for the forfeit. I don't think its fair to lose points because of a forfeit. His new score for Offense and All Purpose: 229.5 would lead both Offense and All-purpose at this time. Thomas would move to 2nd in All purpose.
I Also took Verwey off the Top Ten since he quit. Mapson joins the Top Ten Offensive (78.1) and Stireman joins Top Ten All-purpose (80.2)
