It is with heavy hearts that the Utah Shock announce the passing of one of their warriors.  RIP Aaron Sawyer!!  It was an honor and a privilege to suit up next to such a good hearted dude!!!   On to your next battle bro!

I met Sawyer back in 2004 in my first year in the RMFL. All we wanted was a chance.

We had played together in an All-Star game and he told me he wanted to come run with the Shock. He came and joined the team and instantly was a part of the family.

Through it all, Sawyer had your back. He was loyal to the fullest. Whether it was on the field, after the game, or just a regular week day. He was as loyal as they come.

Through it all, he always had your back.

Aaron- thank you for being my friend and my teammate. More importantly thank you for being my brother and for always having my back. The Shock isn't a football team, it's a brotherhood.

My prayers go out to your family. May you finally rest in peace my friend.

God first and foremost -- brotherhood.

Aaron played for me with the Wolverines. What a great teammate and a guy full of heart. He'll be missed....very sad to hear. Condolences to his family and to the Shock family.

Played with Aaron a long time ago. He was just a good dude. Nice, fun, hard-working, hard-nosed player. Sad to hear about this.
