This weekend is the annual Stars & Stripes Academy (SASA) games in SLC.  Those of you that have been around the RMFL know how fun and important this weekend is to our league.  Between this weekend, and the championship weekend in June, SASA contributes over $10,000 of cash, fields, and officials to our league.  This relationship is VERY important to us.  It's also an amazing opportunity to watch a lot of RMFL football (8 games in two days) in a short period of time.

I've included some reminders below, but PLEASE be on your best behavior.  Each of the last two years we have had incidents that have led to problems at the schools where we have held these games (one year it was players going through the lockers in the locker room, the next it was a player with chewing tobacco pouches on the field, and last it was one of our players accidentally breaking a bench at the school).  Bottom line, we need to do better.  PLEASE let your teammates know; we will have an RMFL and SASA representative at each game to help answer questions and enforce the rules at the field.

Schedule:

Friday, May 13th, Viewmont High School (120 W. 1000 N. Bountiful, UT)

6:00 --  Brigham Sting vs. Davis Vipers

8:00 -- Utah Cobras vs. Logan Stampede (this game will start shortly after the Sting/Vipers, 8:00 at the earliest)

Saturday, May 14th, Viewmont High School (120 W. 1000 N. Bountiful, UT)

12:00 -- Great Falls Gladiators vs. Uintah Basin Oilers

3:00 -- Billings Xtreme vs. Nevada Warriors

6:00 -- Flathead Monsters vs. Wyoming Outlaws

Saturday, May 14th, Woods Cross High School (600 W. 2200 S. Woods Cross, UT)

12:00 -- Las Vegas Raiders vs. Utah Wildcats

3:00 --  Las Vegas Hawks vs.  Utah Shock

6:00 -- Zion Lions vs. Wasatch REVolution

For your viewing convenience, all Big 9 games are at Woods Cross and all Great North games are at Viewmont.  Cost is $5 for the day.

--  Absolutely no gatorade, energy drinks, soda, chewing gum, chewing tobacco, or sunflower seeds on the field.  WATER ONLY.  I can't emphasize this enough.  These aren't SASA rules, but school rules, and we MUST comply.

--  Quarterbacks, if you want to use your own balls, you must bring SIX.  Ball mechanics is a big part of what the officials are graded on and they need six to do it correctly.  Otherwise, SASA will provide Wilson GST composite balls for you to play with.

-- Officials will do their best to honor our exceptions.  These are all college officials, so some of our rules (down-by-contact) will be difficult for them, but they will do their best to honor our exceptions.  Targeting will be called in the game, but no players will be ejected for it.

--  Games will be the usual 12 minutes, BUT it will be kept as college timing rules.  This takes some getting used to, especially on the play clock.  The officials are pretty good about not calling too many delay of games, but offenses will need to get in and out of the huddle more quickly than they're used to.

I've probably forgotten something, but that's why I'm getting all of this out there now.  Again, mostly just PLEASE be respectful to the officials and the facilities where we are playing these games.  This is a fantastic opportunity for us as a league, and we don't want to lose it.  See everyone this weekend!
