I called this all-purpose because Overall seemed to go to the second best offensive guy. This includes All-purpose yards. It's too much work to integrate defensive stats too.
All-Purpose MVP/Fantasy points
I've taken the posted stats and assigned points to give the top players a score based on fantasy football type scoring.Several teams are missing a week of stats, so the numbers could be slightly different for players from Hawks, Rev, Shock and Trojans.
Here is the formula used:
Passing yards - 1 point for every 25 yds, Passing TD - 3 pts, Rushing/Receiving/Return yards 1 point for every 10 yards, Rush/Rec/Return TD - 6 points, 2pt conv - 2 points, FG- 3pts
The results:
PlayerTeampts
S Thomas
Shock
148.2
S Sherwood
Vipers
143.0
T Robinson
Hawks
126.9
Ford
Lions
117.6
C Peterson
Rev
105.8
Messenger
Sting
104.8
Brisco
Hawks
100.3
Guerts
Rev
98.4
M Smith
Wildcats
94.4
*I think Trey Robinson played a bunch of defense too. I guess you get to do that on teams with fewer players. Defensive points have not been included.
I included the top point earners, generally players on teams not in the playoffs are not considered for MVP, but I put the top players anyway.Obviously there is much more to the MVP than just stats and the top stat guy is seldom the MVP.But hopefully it will get some conversation going.
