As we come down to the final few weeks of this great 2012 season we should see the rankings start to solidify as there are some key matchups over the next few Saturdays. As for now, there’s not a lot of change…
1 – Shock 5-0
Escaped Logan with a win, albeit MUCH closer than both the score signified and what the Shock were expecting. Now they have a big matchup against a team that’s had their number the past few years…Shock hold onto the #1 spot this week but with a close game or upset could see them falling back a couple spaces…
2 – Rebels 5-1
Absolutely dominant since their week 2 loss (at Treasure Valley) and their first half performance against the Revolution (Week 3).Dixie is built to run and they’ve shown that strength as they average over 100 yards MORE per game on the ground than any other AAA team…HUGE game this week vs Stealth…big win and they could just vault to the top
3 – Stealth 4-1
Have been arguably the most consistent team in the league since their week 3 smack down versus the current #1 club…The Stealth get the chance at showing that they’re in fact “the” team to beat and have improved every week as they travel south to take on a strong Dixie team…
4 – Revolution 3-2
Could easily be ranked anywhere from the #4 spot to the #6…and over the next few weeks we’ll know exactly where they belong. The offense seems to be clicking again and that previously “suspect” defense picked up the slack and produced BIG TIME last week…now they have to do it for two weeks in row as they take on the limping Shock
5 – Spartans 3-2
Finally had a bye week and hopefully used it to heal up as they now play their only “in-state” rivalry game of the season…a big win will keep them in the top-5 but a close game could drop them below the Stampede
6 – Stampede 2-3
Without a doubt a top-6 team…and will have a few chances to still move up not only in my rankings but for playoff seeding…Jenkins has made all the difference on offense as they’re now a formidable opponent on both sides of the ball
7 – Mudducks 0-6
It’s only fair that I FINALLY move the Mudducks up (even though it comes after ANOTHER loss) as they’ve shown their grit in another close game.Another “coulda-shoulda-woulda” BUT DIDN’T performance from the Mudducks…but at least they’ve claimed their spot as the best of the rest
8 – Bulldawgs 1-4
Looks like they secured the only win they’re going to get versus the Gladiators a couple weeks ago as their offense appears to be regressing from the beginning of the season.Landrian with his worst performance to date doesn’t equate to moving up in the rankings.Have all but secured the #8 spot this season
9 – Gladiators 0-4
Another Alias I’ve talked to told me that the Gladiators may not be a top-5 team in MONTANA…and I couldn’t argue with that statement…
