With the regular season complete, the AA Playoff bracket is as follows:
1. Idaho Matadors (host Stampede in 1st round, homefield throughout)
2. Bitterroot Blaze (host Idaho Mstangs in 1st round)
3. Uintah Basin Oilers (host Boise Generals in 1st round)
4. Arco Anarchy (host Missoula Phoenix in 1st round)
5. Missoula Phoenix (go to Arco Anarchy in 1st round)
6. Logan Stampede (go to Idaho Matadors in 1st round)
7. Boise Generals (go to Uintah Basin Oilers in 1st round)
8. Idaho Mustangs (go to Bitterroot Blaze in 1st round)
As previously discussed, Idaho receives two #1 seeds because of the 8 team division, so even though the Phoenix have a better record, they travel to Arco in 1st round.
We also agreed to cross-bracket the first round to avoid Montana & Utah teams playing each other--this is why even though the Stampede are the 6th seed, they play the #1 seed Matadors.
The Generals and Mustangs beat out the Vikings for the final two spots because of the Strength of Schedule of Common Opponents tie-breaker (they all three had the same record and neither of the three teams beat both of the others in head-to-head).
We agreed not to re-seed after each round, so this bracket will carry throughout the playoffs.
If the top four seeds all win then the Anarchy would travel to the Matadors in round 2 and the Oilers would travel to the Blaze.

Hopefully next year the AA can get it right. I think it is crappy that the a 7-1 team is headed to a 6-2 team that didnt even win their division.....No disrespect for Arco i would have said they deserved the home field had they have won thier division at 6-2 but there is no reason a 7-1 team should be traveling to play a non division winner with a worse record. Home and away can mak the difference in moving on in the playoffs. Just an observation from a former player.....Good luck to all i think this years AA has more depth as far as can win it all than it ever has!!

We changed the conferences so that geography has no boundaries in Idaho. Idaho gets two #1 seeds because of this. Otherwise Arco would have been the Eastern Idaho Conference Champ, and Missoula travels there any ways.
I have to agree that it seems that a 7-1 team shouldn't be traveling to a 6-2 team, but the rounds were strictly based on placement of #1 and #2 seeds because there were no non-conference games.

Darrell, I am looking forward to playing you guys on Sat, this should be a great game! Also, I cant wait to meet you because you make me laugh in just about every one of your posts.
Bobby, it's gonna be a good'n. But don't let my good nature fool ya'... I see an opportunity for a cheap shot or a good comeback block, I'm on it like a preacher on a neckbone. By the way, it is Darrell. Brad just can't be taught.
See you Saturday!!

I'll post to anonymous, the stronger division holds no merit because we supplanted that because 4 teams had a 50% chance of making the playoffs where the Montana division had 2 teams with a 40% chance of postseason play. BOOM #mathschooledmathrules
