Not taking anything from Jeff because you have been doing a great job with getting reports out and even admitted that you had an Idaho bias, but I think if the AA keeps the same division format next year each division should have their own writer.

Thanks, and I agree.  I think that if the format of three divisions stays, each division will have a "bete" type of reporter.  With the addition of the montana writer, my job was made much easier, and I think he was able to be more complete in his writing, since he has a direct connection to that division.  Change is emminent.  Be sure.  PS-- to all of the Oilers...you have had a wonderful season.

Like I said it wasn't anything against you, I did think of it as a workload thing as well. With it cut down we could may also have legit previews of the week matchups.

Apparently I wasn't clear. I did not once point out the Oilers as a team that didn't do things the right way. I couldn't thing of a better organization to point out for doing things the right way. That being said not every team is the Oilers. Who really cares about write ups anyway? It's a simple recap of a game. Not life or death and boo hoo if they aren't perfect. Also you are calling out Jeff. Quit saying you aren't when you in fact are. Be a man about things. If you don't like something, say it. Quit pussy footing around. You don't like his articles. Who cares? I love them! The other articles were dry and lacking any life. Jeff add's a whole lot to these articles that the previous didn't have. Are they biased? For sure. Couldn't agree more. That being said he has no information to go off except what information is given to him. Again I am calling out the groups that take the easy way out and dont do things the right way(Notice the bold so I'm getting my point across). When Jeff isn't having his phone calls or emails returned we have a problem and it's not Jeff. Not the teams that go above and beyond what should be done. Also I hope the league gives you a shot to write articles, I'm going to be your biggest critic to see how you like it :)

Knowing Hankins the way I do, these articles are not simply showing his bias. I believe that team officials(GM's and HC's) need to be held accountable for these reports. Jeff has to write game reports most times on teams he knows nothing about and when team officials give him poor information(The Blaze and Billings debacle) we see what happens. One sided articles that teams get their panties in a bunch about. Trust me asking the league to spend more money on writers is not going to happen. Holding teams in this league accountable should be our number one concern. Stats and game reports aren't difficult. They require you to spend time(if you dont have enough time to do stuff that is required, then go do something else) Sometimes I wish people would ask themselves is Hankins being biased or is it just that he has more information from certain teams. I would love to have writers for each and every team(I love reading Jesus's post game recaps) that being said every GM isn't like mine. Yet I feel that team accountability should be our prime concern here. There were a few times when Hankins didn't receive any information from a team. NONE. Hold teams more accountable. IMO that's what should be done here.

Hey I am not calling him out. Yes I think that the articles weren't as in depth for the other divisions. All I did was give an example of how we could fix it without bad mouthing anyone. People come on here and complain about the staff and a good response always says, how did your post offer anyway to fix it. I didn't bad mouth anyone and offered a way to make something better. You enjoyed Jeff's writing and so did I but it was obvious he didn't know much about the at least our division. My solution fixes that.

I'm not tip toeing around anything and if I was I wouldn't put my name on here.

You can be my biggest critic, because you already are! Ha.

I never said paying people to write the articles. I would volunteer to write Utahs for free next year. I don't have a problem with Jeff, however if he did get paid then I do have a problem with the bias. If he got paid then he should contact the GMs to get an account from somebody in attendance. Lee Vernoy did, I know Hobson did the years he wrote them. If he didn't get paid then I am fine with them like I said before.

Jeff is a good writer and has plenty of witty banter but outside of Idaho most reports were just witty banter. Oilers posted stats every week so please come up with a different argument.

To Jeff again this was never aimed at you, thanks for your time this year. Just trying to better the process while relieving some of the workload.

Fair points. Honestly my biggest critique for this league in general is accountability. Too many teams do just enough to not be fined and it's frustrating. I would like it as well if we had each division with it's own writer who actually cared about their divisions(Connelly and Hankins, you guys are doing an amazing job in my opinion). I feel like every team's manager should turn in game summaries by Tuesday evening. Not half ass this or that but actually turn in some legitimate summaries so the writers can go off of both teams summaries and write accordingly. Again most of this is "dream world" thinking but I would love to see more writers and more effort.

PS Sorry for being a prick. Hankins is my boy. I took yours and Oilers66's comments to heart and had to stand up for my boy. Best of luck to you boys this weekend and please travel safe :)

Its pretty bad when 3/4 of the article is about the losing team, and what theyre gonna do now that their season is over and how good theyre gonna be next year and how much better their division is. I enjoyed reading most of the write ups but the last one was pretty lame. And Tom if you dont care about the write ups then why would you care who writes them?

LAWL You got an axe to grind with everyone huh? In all reality what does it matter?! You guys won! Who gives a frick what an article says? I agree that it could have mentioned more specifics but man who cares about an article! You guys have much bigger fish to fry than some dumb article. You guys pimp slap a team and want more? Cmon man. Quit acting like it's the world versus the Oilers. You guys deserved more respect than was given in that article. That being said in the grand scheme of things...you'll live. Also not sure what you mean by your last comment or where you derived it from but I could care less about the articles and who writes them. I read them once and get on with my life because an article means nothing.

Why not just post links to more of the articles in the community papers. Like this one.

I don't know about all the communities, but I know here in St. George 2 different papers cover the Rebels.

Thank you for the recognition TD!! I love following all of the Montana teams and am more than willing to continue following them next season. I never missed a game throughout the entire season even when the Missoula Phoenix were on a bye week. I would also like to give a shout out to Jeff Hankins for doing a great job with both the Idaho and Utah teams! Good luck to the Matadors and Blaze this Saturday in the RMFL AA Championship!!
