Anyone watching the NFL with these replacements refs?  It reminds me of a RMFL game.  It is extremely difficult to officiate adult!  Anyone trying to say that our league is "ghetto" because there are arguments needs only to look at the NFL, where that has become the norm with the new referees.

I dont disagree but I dont agree either, these refs may not be "NFL" qualified but they are more then high school qualified like most of the refs in other areas. There are calls that they are going to make that others wont and calls that they will not make that others will i.e contact down the field on wr and cb's past five yards. I try really hard not to complain to the refs about things cause I did 7-8 grade out here in Vernal and its difficult so I can only imagine what the NFL is like even our league

I think some of our leagues problem is we have so many rules mixed from high school to NFL... I think we wouldnt have so many calls and missed calls if we were just a one set of rules league... either college or NFL... Hell even high school cause then EVERYONE is on the same page and not 20 different interpertations....

I would agree with that too--I've been talking to Jess (our Head of Officials) and some of the other GMs about going to one standardized set of rules (High School or NCAA). I think it would be easier on the officials and would improve gameplay overall.

Agreed, and most of our officials are HS refs so rule interpretaions wouldn't be screwed up.  Well said.

Not totally convinced that the replacement refs are as bad as announcers make it seem. Their flaws are highlighted every single hand check and butt picking touch so it seems like they are messing up bad but I really don't think they are as bad they want to make it seem. Most of them are BCS level refs, but a lot of the rule differences are the biggest flaws. I watched a guy administer a 10> penalty for D Holding, then Gruder came back and says it's only a 5> penalty. Who knew D Holding was a 5> penalty in the NFL?

None of them are BCS level officials.  NFL officials that are locked out are the Supervisors for the BCS conferences and pretty much said if you cross the line, you will never work college ball again.  All of the officials are D2, D3, NAIA or high school guys.  Most have been in the conference that they are/were currently in for 10+ years and had no chance of moving up.  I know 3 guys doing it and all 3 are older than Tom Bennett and have been "stuck" where they are.  All also have been fired from the conferences that they were in, except the high school guys.  But I agree with Kit that they have been more under the microscope than the regular officials.  They haven't done bad, but they sure as hell haven't done good either.
