Now I for one am not a fan of pre-season rankings. Why? Because how do you really know who a team really is? But week two rankings? I am a fan of those. So here you go.

#5 The Mudd Ducks

A good nucleus of athletes that has the ability to beat you running downhill and throwing over the top. However they tend to struggle when it counts, I for one believe this is more of an internal struggle than anything. IF the Ducks ever learn to each take his own job and do it they will be an extremely dangerous team for the four ahead of them. They seem to have improved greatly over the last week as they took the mighty Rev down to the wire. According to my sources the Ducks ability to talk too much is quite possibly why they can’t win… how do you focus on your job while talking to someone else about their job. There you have it Ducks I give to you the key to your success talk less play more and you will win some games. And Hans watch out that word has it you don’t really want to take to many hospitalizing hits per year!!!

#4 The Rebels

Ah the team of mystery, the Rebels? I first thought that they would struggle this year with their many personel losses, however they made me waiver in my beliefs when they thrashed the Ducks opening night. Nevertheless” they are who we thought they were” to quote Denny Green. A team in search of someone to take over the reins for the missing stars. Is it possible? Yes I think they have athletes who have the ability to do so the question is will they emerge from the shadows of what once was? Or is it possible that they will get a return of the guard? Still so many questions here and a lot of growing to do. I believe they have a good solid foundation to rebuild they will have to mold together quickly because the AAA is real this year no growing up games if you will!

# 3 The Stealth

How do you drop the Stealth so far with a loss in the rematch of the championship game and a bye you ask? Simply this I believe that the front seven of this defense is not what it was last year! Make no mistake about it I am of the school that Champions are born from the inside out! Add to that the seeming absence of the leagues rushing leader and you have yourself some issues! Wissler is a adept QB who seems to have a good set of receivers to toss the ball to. The corners are good but less effective without that nasty front seven and the MAN helping them over the top. Overall still a good team more is to be learned on them in the weeks to come.

#2 The Shock

Has anyone ever heard of that football team that won a championship that one guy? Sources say this is a solo act. For now they stand at the 2 spot because of their victory over the Rebels. One thing is for sure they will not sit here long if someone besides the chosen one JK steps up! They return the core of their players therefore they have less “figuring things out” to do than the two teams below them. But I am very concerned for the second half of the season  can JK last the whole season and the beatings that are sure to come as teams figure out that he is their option (not plural)? My info says there was a nasty incident down south and a questionable re-inserting for the rec league win this weekend??? I struggle with myself to leave them here at 2 because of that reason but hope that another playmaker arises from the roster. They seem to have a few to which they can look to…will someone stand up or will it just be status quo??? Comments Mr. Follower sir?

#1 The Rev

At 2-0 the Rev are the team for this spot…for now… I perceive some weaknesses here i.e. last time I checked studies noted it takes 28 points to ensure yourself a win. However this defense seems to be the top of the food chain right now with playmakers all over the place. Rumor has it the injury bug has started for bite. Is that old age brittleness kicking in? Or is riding the beach cruiser to work keeping these guys young and fresh? . The fountain of youth discovered by Huffy?  Levine seems to be having the best season of his career, word on the street is that Solo can still bring it even though reportedly he could only slow the Wayne train last year….sounds like a bump on the tracks…Golden seems to have finally found a place he can wear really small shirts and actually be effective on the field besides kicker. Charlie has a group of dangerous weapons at his disposal, not a great sign for the rest of the league. I believe he was able to get the ball to about ten different guys against the Ducks, which makes it tough on defenses to know where to key. As of week two this is the team that is the most complete and has the least question marks. Often times though it seems that the ones that discover themselves late are the ones to fear. Congrats Rev on a great start.

Good Luck to all the rest of the season and may we all look forward to much drama and changing of the rankings throughout the season. Be Safe and remember it really is just rec league you do have to go back to work Monday.
