Rocky Mountain Football League

Sometimes I believe there is no hope for this league other than to be an oversized play crib for older individuals that want to be modern day Peter Pans and never grow up. Or even better the ones that are still pursuing that elusive NFL career at 30 years old…. Other days though I look and wonder why the RMFL can’t be a successful business, making money for owners, and dare I say it maybe even a few dollars for players? And then I read the more than generously shared thoughts of certain individuals on this board and I realize that we constantly play to the crowd. How about one time, one year just do what is not popular, but what everyone knows is best for the RMFL not for any individual team or group of teams. You know everyone sacrifice for the greater good instead of sucking the system dry? Just a thought…Sorry enough ramblings...

Let’s get to the games shall we. First of all thank you Turkelton for the shout out much appreciated! I am afraid I come up quite short however in comparison to you on these predictions…I believe I could bet against myself in Vegas and win a fortune…

DUCKS @STEALTH

Ah I do believe I see a revamped roster out there.. Tell me where do you come up with a bunch of ringers halfway through the season??? No don’t tell me I don’t care I like it, it stands to make things very interesting in the back half of this year. I like the looks of the new Stealth O and the direction they seem to be taking. Their D is more solid than they are getting credit for so far, I really like their line backing core led by Walker and Hermanson. I am concerned with the secondary here and one thing the Ducks can catch you on is that deep play as we have seen all year, I believe only the Shock were able to hold them without at least one big play. The Stealth seem to be catching fire at the right time and just in time if you ask me I really like the potential with the new QB (does this mean Wissler is riding off into the sunset?) . As I have stated before I think the stealth have an incredible set of receivers.  

The Ducks on the other hand have had a week off and I hope they worked on a few things I am still a believer in these guys as I can see the talent on the field. However they constantly kill themselves with their AA problem, talk talk talk…..at this point the Ducks are comparable to the Gladiators all the big talk and no results.  It pains me to say so as I have much respect for many of the Duck players and coaches but as we all know it only takes a few to put a team out of sync. I still believe if the Ducks talk less and play more they will turn their season around. It could start this week….

GAME OF THE WEEK

REV @ SHOCK

Now here is a game I have been waiting a couple of weeks for. The UNDEFEATED Shock against the machine that is the Rev. The shock are coming off a great game against the Stealth where emotions were high and a lot of passion was used to grab a victory. The Rev are coming off their first loss, and their worst outing as an offense all year.

JK continues on his masterful run and it seems that every week one more member of the Shock O steps up to the plate and helps out. I really like what I see out of Allums and Christensen, both of these backs are averaging over 4 yards a carry, that is good in anyones book!! The better they run the less JK carries and the less other teams can pin their ears back and go after JK. I like the defense so far, KB is having an all-world year, I do still question them though as they gave up a lot of yards and points last week. I don’t really believe they have been tested until the Stealth game. This week will tell the tale I believe.

The Rev still look good to me I know they got beat down in the desert but hasn’t everyone at some point? After last week’s game I look for Charlie and his recievers to come out with a chip on their shoulder to prove they are better than what happened last week. The scary thing here is the rumor that a hand injury might keep out one of the top offensive threats in the RMFL.  I see Poloa picking up a little more steam each week, I actually think he may be the most complete back in the league and a dangerous weapon to have. The Rev D is just plain good and they will be prepared Levine, Siolo, and Angel will have the “Revelusos” ready to roll this week with a full complement of players. The biggest goal for them should be to keep Kjar in the pocket, if he escapes you’re in trouble! He is far from a AA player in any sense of the thought and any comparison is ignorant… IF they can keep him contained the Rev will win...

I think the combination of the Rev being mad and the Shock coming off a huge emotional victory will be too much for the Shock.
