We’re really excited for SASA this weekend and hope that all of you are too.Having said that, given this is the first time we’ve incorporated the academy with a regular season weekend, I’m sure we’ll have some hiccups and small kinks to work out.
So, first and foremost, I wanted to get out the exact schedule so you can let your players and fans know.
Friday:4:30 at Davis High School Exhibition Game
7:00 at Davis High School Vipers AT Cobras
6:30 at Clearfield High School Mudd Ducks AT REVolution
Saturday:12:00 at Davis High School Wyoming Thunder at Elko Warriors
12:00 at Woods Cross High School Utah Wolverines at TBD
3:00 at Davis High School Mini Cassia Diggers at Upper Valley Vikings
3:00 at Woods Cross High School DC Reign at Utah Stealth
6:00 at Davis High School Uintah Basin Oilers at Brigham Sting
6:00 at Woods Cross High School Dixie Rebels at Utah Shock
Sunday:1:30 at Rice Eccles Stadium:DC Reign at Mudd Ducks
Because of the compact schedule on Saturday, you will probably only have about 30 minutes of on-field prep time before each game. Both facilities have lots of grass areas around the playing field for warming up, so take advantage of it.
Because of SASA, the timing in these games will be college rules—15 minute quarters, 40 second play clock.Although the quarters are different, because of the difference in timing rules, the number of plays and total run time for these games should be very similar to our normal RMFL games.
Each team will also need to have at least 4 game balls. As most of you are aware, the academy has bought a bunch of Wilson NCAA composite balls to use for those teams that don’t have 4, but if your QB is particular about his balls, be sure to bring 4 (insert sexual innuendoes here).
Also, if you could refrain from excess celebrations during these games, the academy would appreciate it.They are doing their best to honor our exceptions (down-by-contact, etc.), but the purpose of the academy is to test the official’s knowledge of the college rules, so any help we can give them would be appreciated.
Finally, while these games are officiated by SASA, they still fall under the RMFL umbrella and so any ejections will still be honored per the RMFL constitution.
The academy is in charge of admission and will be charging $5 per person over the age of 12.Players that come in for their game and stay get in free; but if you leave and come back you’ll be expected to pay (just like last year). They’ll also be doing concessions (see note below).
We’re still looking for bodies for the 4:30 exhibition game on Friday, so please have guys contact me that are interested. If the Davis Vipers don’t take Saturday’s 12:00 game vs. the Wolverines, we will most likely form a compiled team of local RMFL players for that game as well.
As always, give me a call with any questions.See you all this weekend!

This year we have contracted with Steve Owen to handle all concessions. Steve is an official and has been officiating RMFL games for over 10 years. Here is a list of some of the concessions that will be sold at the concession stands.
HamburgersCheeseburgers, Double Meat Hamburgers andPulled Pork, Brats, Hot Dogs, Nachos, Chips, Fries, Cotton Candy, Red Vines, Cow Tails, Sodas, Gatoraid and Bottled Water.
In addition Steve has created a SASA burger. It is a single or double meat cheeseburger with pulled pork on top. Along with the triple B burger, a single or doubled meat hamburger or cheeseburger with a section of a brat that is cut in half placed skin side up on the grill then on top of your burger. Ask at the stand what the 3-B’s are.
A portion of the sales from the concession goes to the Wasatch Front Football Official Association Salt Lake Chapter.
