Week 7 Predictions

Well here we are again, another week in the books and another missed opportunity to go unbeaten in my pickem....Sigh. Thanks Oilers...

I'm now 43-15 on the year and still going strong...

I think it is safe to say that the reigning AAA champion Stealth is down for the count now. You never wish to see that kind of situation that's for sure. They still may sneak a game but I don't expect much more noise from them at this point. Much respect! and we hope to see you back next year.

Stars and Stripes weekend everyone!! You excited?! Well all glamour aside as long as there is a good turnout I believe this could be a good weekend for the RMFL as a whole. Although, my two cents, the whole pickup game idea is dumb. I can understand having an exhibition game with a team interested in joining the league. But as a spectator I don't care much for pickup football. Unless it's a female lingerie bowl. (Hint Hint) <------Next year please Mr. Commish! :)

All in all there is some pretty enticing games on the docket! And interesting enough this is all due to all of the divisions essentially turning into three way battles for playoff position. Yeah baby I said it "PLAYOFFS". That magic time to buck up, strap up, and leave the ladies at home.

Now time to talk about what really matters... My Predictions right???? Crickets....

AAA Division

With the Stealth loss this past weekend, this has turned into a three headed monster between the Shock, Rev, and Rebels. And I do put emphasis on the "monster" part of that statement. I do tend to feel the Rev will be on top come end of the playoffs.

**GAME OF THE WEEK** Rebels at Shock - Rebels 31-28

This one went down to the wire in St. George in their last meeting the Shock earned a 27-20 victory. I fully expect the Rebels to return the favor and steal a game from the Shock at their house this time.

Mudd Ducks at Rev - Rev 38-6

This should be a victory and down week for the Rev, if they lose something went terribly wrong.

AA Division

IDAHO - We are looking at a three way battle between the Generals, Matadors, and Bulldawgs. But there is also Arco and the Mustangs knocking on the door. Which one of them will come in? The Generals still have the Bulldawgs and Matadors but as of now they are looking unstoppable and in control. I see the Generals as the team out of Idaho that survives the longest in the playoffs if not taking it all.

Diggers at Vikings - Diggers 21-12

I'm looking for a very physical game here, with special teams being the ultimate factor for the Diggers.

Anarchy at Mustangs - Anarchy 38-21

This can't be any more of a pivotal game for both of these squads. Chalk full of talent, and hard nosed cats, this one is going to be interesting to watch. Playoff implications for sure. In the end I feel that the Arco defense is the deciding factor.

**GAME OF THE WEEK 1(a)** Bulldawgs at Generals - Generals 28-21

I stated last week that I couldn't wait to watch the Generals play the Matadors. But in all reality I think that this game could be more difficult for the Generals. Dropping one of these two games could very well cost the Generals a #1 seed if I'm not mistaken. Most believe the Bulldawgs is actually the Generals toughest test so far this season? Ok agreed. Could the Generals be filling our minds with a false identity by pounding on the weaker competition in Idaho? We will see, but I can't go against the safe pick here and I have to believe the Generals come to play and handle business. BUT I would be ecstatic to see the "underdog" take one here.

Lancers at Guardians - Lancers 20-0

Toilet bowel of the Idaho division but Mr. Bennett and company has the better offense here and gets their first victory of the season on the road none the less.

MONTANA - The Gladiators, Bullets, and Phoenix are the major players in this one. But of the three my pick for a playoff run would be the Gladiators. The Bullets and Gladiators make it into the playoffs, the Phoenix still have to play the Bullets and Gladiators again. No Bueno for them.

Gladiators at Bullets - Gladiators 41-16

This is an interesting one because it is a back to back match up between these two. The first time around the Gladiators came out on top, this time I feel it will be a little easier since they have already met this very gritty Bullets squad.

Snow Devils at Knights - Devils 28-0

Another rematch here and "toilet bowel" but the Devils come out on top again.

UTAH - Lets see here, the Cobras, Sting, and Oilers are battling this one out to the end. But I feel the Oilers are going to be sunk after this weekend. Man did the Cobras do the first year Sting a favor by sweeping the Oilers this past weekend or what? If the Oilers lose to the Sting on Saturday then I fully expect the Cobras and Sting to represent Utah in the playoffs. And then in the final game of the season they will meet again to determine seeding. I feel that the Sting are better equipped for a playoff run because of their hard nosed defense. Overall in their first year they are the best team in the division, just have to limit mistakes going forward.

Vipers at Cobras - Cobras 40-0

A Friday game that will put you to bed early if your the older folk out there...Yawn...Probably not worth watching.

Oilers at Sting - Sting 28-20

The Sting have made some statements in the last few weeks in this division. The first time these two teams played I'm told it was quite ugly and filled with crappy weather, yet the Oilers only got away with a 6-0 win at home. I feel the Sting land the knockout punch needed to send the Oilers home for the year and send themselves to the playoffs.

I wanted to say welcome to all of the new posters that have shown up of the last few weeks in our boards. Although I have followed for years I'm fairly new to posting myself. I look forward to seeing your posts and all competitive banter is welcome. Always remember nothing is personal when competing with the Turk.

Until next week gents--TURK OUT>>>Was I dropped on my head when I was younger? Yeah, in a pool of sexy.

FYI Turk, before you go off with your opinion about the exhibition game please know the facts. Our agreement with the organizers of the Stars and Stripes Academy require 10 games, one of which is a 4:30 game on Friday. So unless you and your whole team and the team that you are playing can leave work early on a Friday, we need a "pick up" game.

Yeah, last year's Friday games were brutal... 12-13 man teams (WITH some recruiting) to play a not-for-reals game.

Understood, the logistics of the event are above my pay grade. But doesn't mean I have to agree right? It wasn't a jab at those putting this together. I think this weekend is good publicity for the league. It should be fun overall.
