Ah I was going to write about our lengthy AA/AAA argument but then I remembered no one really cares. Between the “your picking on me” vs.the “you have no testicular fortitude” factions we have a hundred posts that all say the same thing a different way. I give them an “A” for creativity… however it is plain as day everyone involved in the argument likes how it is set up.
So how about two weeks of seeding with four teams that will make the playoffs. Out of those four one could argue that…hmmm all four have a legitimate shot at the trophy? This will be a great month of football as teams always step up a notch in playoff time, when that ring is just down the stretch who will win the race??? One team is desperate, two teams have been their often, and the other team has that trophy feeling fresh on their minds.
Rebels @ Revolution
Revolution had what seems like a month off to mend any aches and pains and get some much needed rest. Also a fine opportunity to do some extra game planning for this weeks opponent. Dixie played a great game down south last week, I believe this team is a true Dr Jekyl Mr. Hyde team. One week they look terrible the next they look unstoppable, hard to know what you will get with a team like that. I assume the Revolution will get the good Rebels as I don’t believe either one of these squads likes to lose to the other one very much. The last time the Rev were on the field they squashed the ducks by a healthy margin, after such a long layoff they should have nice fresh legs. I would bet that Levine and his defense are more than ready to put the pads back on and create chaos. At this point I have to believe the Rev have the best defense in the league and I am sure they will have 100% attendance this week due to the importance of the game. If the Rev lose they could drop to the third seed, which would put the Rebels in the #2 seat with a shot at number one…That would equal a trip down south eventually…The Rev offense seems to be consistent no ups and downs they can be counted on to put up about 21 points a night. Branche is running at a good clip right now as long as he is at full health, and Charlie is having a good season over the 1,000 yard mark at this point, not his best season ever but a good one nonetheless. The one thing I do like about this Rev O is the running game is playing a bigger part than it ever has, that is a good formula for winning.
On the other side it is Dr. Jekyl Mr. Hyde I witnessed the beating at the hands of the Shock and the Rebels were terrible at best. I did not witness the Stealth game but from the write-up it would seem that the Rebels had their way with the Stealth??? Maybe the Rebels are just that much better at home. In any case the Rebels run game seems to be on the same track as every year two backs in the…top two? Draper seems to be settling into his RMFL career he probably had his best game of the season against the Stealth. The Rebels D is not what it once was in years past, make no mistake they are still very good, if nothing else they are opportunistic. They probably sport the best defensive player in the league with Wayne Alofipo, there could be discussion here with Levine in the mix I would actually enjoy hearing others thoughts on that, are there other players in the discussion?
In any case this looks to be a good game and a good matchup. Will the Rev be rusty or rested and what Rebels team will show up? I believe this game is the one that the whole AAA playoff scenario revolves around as a Rebels win could make a big difference. This one is a classic who wants it more matchup the team that deems their situation the most important will walk away with a victory. My thoughts are that the Rev will squeak by the Rebels, but it is hard to say every time the Rebels pull one of these big games I find myself jumping on their bandwagon just to have them get trounced by the Shock… On the other hand word is the game between these two in St. George was not as close as the scoreboard indicated, and the Rev are likely to start a bit slow after a half month lay-off. Yet the Rev just have that feeling about them this year.

SHOCK @ STEALTH
Even though they traveled to St. George and took a loss I like this Stealth team especially since the arrival of Mr. Vincent and his favorite target Sam Thomas. Yes they will go in as the fourth seed but what a dangerous fourth seed. I strongly believe they can beat any team in the league. Their defense is far from what it was a year ago but they are certainly adequate, and their offense is much better in my opinion than the Championship version. The last time these two teams played it was the Stealth up for much of the game only to lose it in the last minute, I am sure they will have that defeat at the back of their mind when they step on the field.
On the other side of the ball the Shock won a game without their vaunted QB however a couple short fields, a kick return for a touchdown, and they only put up 29 on the ducks…. I maintain my position I believe in the D but no JK no O, better protect him like he is the Federal Reserve if the Shock want to land in the Promised Land. On a side note come on kicker you ask for more points last week then don’t take the free ones?
I expect this will be a 4 quarter battle just like the last game. Even though I believe the other game is the game of the week I think I will attend this one, there has been promises made of pre- game fireworks… After the fireworks are over and the game commences I believe the Stealth will remember that last minute of the last game and get theirs.
