Matadors score as the buzzers sound and the Revs battle into OT2(?) reminded me of a few instant classic games from years past. And if you remember more details than I do, then please get deeper into them. Or if you got more, please share.
2008 AA Championship OT2
Idaho Matadors 20
Eastern Idaho Lionz 21
It will may take a participant from the game to rehash the game situation, but IIRC, Eastern Idaho scored with a couple seconds to put the game into OT. One of the scoring plays in OT put this game into serious controversy, I wouldn't doubt that a lot of current 'dors claim to be the 2008 Champions. I remember the final play being sent into review and and the Lionz were not "OFFICIALLY" Champions for about 48 hours after the game ended. Lionz had been accused of sandbagging throughout that year because the previous year they were in the AAA semi-finals where they lost to the SG Blitz in OT.
2008 AAA Championship
Cache Valley Bears W (3OT)
Utah Wolverines L
I can't find the score, but I recall this game capping off an epic year of RMFL. IIRC this was the 2nd RMFL Championship game to go into OT, the first took place about 2 hours before hand. I need someone to help capture the details.
2009 AA Semi-Final
Magic Valley Bulldawgs 14
Logan Stampede 17
I played in this one, so I remember it all too well. A long series of events took place like a Bulldawgs fumble on a QB sneak at the 1> led to Logan tying the game, and a late call set up Logan to make an extremely long FG to win the game.
If you got the memories, please share. Here are a couple websites that archive seasons.
There was also a regular season game when Arco was a team brought up from AA playing against the AAA defending champs(?) the Revolution and the game came down to 4 plays inside the 3>. IIRC, Arco stopped the Rev 4 times in a row, and got the win.
There ya go. I remembered the situation but couldn't remember which team was on which end. Somewhere there is a video floating around on the internet of the end of the game.
@Cap'n Crunch - I remember the Bears vs. Wolverines Championship game in '08. That was my first year in the league and we lost to the Bears in triple overtime. As time has morphed on, some of those players are now with the REV in 2014:
Levine Tupe (Bears) - LB
Angel Castillo (Bears) - DB
Johnny Gray (Bears) - RB
Dustin Reid (Bears) - DL
Jason Mapu (Bears) - DL
Joe Mapson (Wolverines) - WR
Charlie Peterson (Wolverines) - QB
Eric Drage (Wolverines) - HC
To all those whom I have missed, especially if you're on the REV 2014 squad - I do apologize. That was a helluva game that went into 3 overtimes after the Wolverines had a chip shot field goal blocked at the end of the 2nd quarter (I think Levine blocked it) and missed a 34 yard FG on their 3rd possession in OT. Johnny Gray ended the game for the Bears with a 2 yard TD plunge. After that year, the REV were formed and I believe 2 years later the Wolverines folded.

Angel, Solo, and Jason played with the Heat in 2008. FYI
Another classic would have to be the Stealths first championship game in 2012 over the REV. Harold Ragin returned a 55 yard game winning FG attempt by the REV 105 yards for the win.

I was there for that one...a lot of players left that game bloody...both side fought tooth and nail to get that win...
