Well this week that was not the case, and neither was it in week 2. Against the mustangs in Holt Arena (week 2) the Snowdevils ran the ball 22 times while only throwing 21 times. Very similar to this weekend when they only ran a total of 31 plays for 435 yards of offense, when there was only 15 passes and 16 rushes all game. I think this is a double edged sword of a running attack that even of its slowed has the gunslinger of a QB to right the ship and steer the offense to victory. If only his WR's could let less balls hit the ground this offense may have another 100 yards and touchdown or two per game to add to their totals and stats.
Honestly any team that shuts out a team and scores 80 on them have little class. Let's brag about how good we are against a team that is struggling. Show some class and put in your reserve players and run the clock out, not run up the score. That's what we have done. When we played the Guardians we were up 35-0 with 2 mins left, we ran the ball and our running back ran it for a 30 yard touchdown. When he came to the sideline, he was chewed out for scoring. We've been on the other side of blowouts and it sucks. Be classy boys
We completed 8 passes 7 of them ended up in the end zone... We averaged almost 18 yards a carry. I had 4 different guys return punts and the 3rd and 4th different guys ended up taking them back for touchdowns. They requested no running clock until 4th. A reserve db got a pick 6 because they decided to try and throw on us still. So my guy who doesn't get much playing time took his moment in the sun as he may not get another shot. We had 26 players suited up so I only have so many backups at some positions. I'm not going to tell my backups in not to play hard and get the game reps they desperately need. Speaking of class we are the only team this year to recognize their fallen star and offered up stickers for the entire league on top of honoring him with a moment of silence before the kickoff. I also recieved a phone call around 11:30 at night from a group of their players i had never met before asking us for hotel information but every hotel at that time was done offering our discounts especially with the college graduation going on rooms weren't to be had. So I offered up my home knowing they were expected in at 4 a.m and made sure they found a place. They had the option of a running clock at the half and as the guy who had to run the clock I wished they would. Check our Facebook page for game stats i think everyone of my 26 players registered a stat.
Kursch, I think this is a non-issue if no one gets on the board seemingly bragging after a 80-0 win. You can't control what your players do especially when it comes to the possibility of scoring. I've been on the otherside of this when Jesus was just practicing his "two minute offense" in an 88-12 shellacking in Idaho. I still like to remind him how his fans started booing them and cheering for us haha. But no one got the board the next day putting stats on the board, Kyto told us we suck but that was it. Just remind your players to think twice before posting something similar to the above post.
I played no starting receivers or running backs past our 2nd possession of the 2nd half. We only ran 33 plays, and completely took out everyone that our numbers would allow beginning of the 4th quarter but our backups on O hardly got any reps in the 4th from 9 some minutes to go as we never saw the ball again when we had a punt return for a TD, pic 6 & another punt return for a TD all of which was ssurrounded by 4 consecutive Guardians possessions where our O never saw the field except for PAT. We only dressed 26 players, every one of them played, and several starters had their pads completely off after half time and in the 3rd qtr. Would it have been more respectful to take a knee 3 times and punt in the 3rd qtr? Because all we did after half was inside runs and dumps in the flats or over the middle so we could try to run the clock out. Its not our fault if guys don't get tackled. We did our best to play with class and win with dignity and accommodate them everystep of the way.

I don't know who it is because I contacted my number 99 and he said it's not him so I've asked for some help league management to see with their IP capabilities. I wasn't happy seeing the comment in the first place as my guys know to stay off here.
Hey Oilers, very few teams have as much class as your team displayed. Typically, I would agree with the Snow Devils and tell my team to play hard until the final whistle. There's nothing worse than giving your all, only to have your opponent go easy. However, from what I heard, the majority of the Guardians were injured that game and playing both ways. I would have run up the middle to let the clock run out. But hey, it's football. Can't stop it, don't complain?
PS - I can't wait to see that Oiler/Snow Devil matchup.
