Upper Tier :

Rebels @ Sting -  This could be the only upset all week although even if the road team wins this one I'm not sure if it is really an upset.  Rebels are still mad about not having handled business in the regular season and put that energy in here for the win.   Rebels 29 - Sting 23

Stealth @ Rev -  Stealth will put on a great show on the road but it's not a terrible amount of distance so hopefully its a tight battle.  In the end Rev Nation holds strong and rolls to hosting the ship.   Stealth 20 - Rev 34

Lower Tier :

Shock @ Cobras -  Nice win for the shock last week but just can't see the home team losing this one.   Shock 13 - Cobras 26

Dogs @ Loco -  Laural will roll through this one on their way to playing for a title in their inaugural season.   Dogs 18 - Loco 27

Ummm, after last weeks upset of Logan....THIS IS A HOME GAME for the Shock.  No one wants to see us in any playoff format....just ask the Mudducks.  And I am not throwing any low blows at the Mudducks, I'm simply saying... SOS aside, We are no where near as soft as our record shows.  Gonna be a fun game Saturday.

My bad, I was only following what was said in the other forum post regarding this next weeks matchups.  If the Shock are at home I would change my pic for which team wins, but my overall and general prediction stands true that the Rebels will be the only road team to win this week.

We aren't technically "at home" , I am just saying...had MV not beaten Logan...we would be on a long road trip to MT. So this is much more of a home game for us. And we are gladly accepting the conditions. Everyone one the Shock WANT TO BALL....banged up or not.... a lot of us just don't know when the last game actually is, this year? Next year? This Saturday? Who knows...we are just glad to be able to push through our frustrating season and get 1 more game. See you Saturday Cobras!

Utah teams that play each other really have no home / away games except for the Rebels. We are all within like 30 minutes of each other. The only difference is who pays for the field. We DEFINITELY don't think the Utah Shock record is "who they are" and as shown all season I don't think anyone else does either. We take EVERY team serious and expect a tough game on Saturday.

Not sure if this means anything for how people will vote next year on playoff seedings in the league meeting, but in both the AAA playoff brackets (Upper & Lower) the 5 and 6 seeds won all four first round games they each played in respectively.  It wasn't just one or two or even three of the four home teams that lost, but every single one of them.  So I guess that begs the question of, were the 3 and 4 seeds worthy of hosting a playoff game, and in turn forcing the "better" team to travel?  Some may have earned a home game, true; but let's be honest, not all were.  That may always be the case because let's face it, there's never going to be a perfect system that everyone agrees on.  Just thought that was an interesting factoid with each and every road team proving themselves better than the home team and the system that put them on the road.

The above comment is interesting but as a team that travelled a long friggin way I do have to say that I appreciate the Blaze making it worth it. Super classy organization and an even better squad. Definitely a team that deserves to be in the AAA year in and year out. And what we appreciated more was the effort they made to play us at an incredible venue. So thanks goes out to the Blaze for not only a great game but a great season. Thanks for having us fellas. Those of you who mentioned you were retiring after the game... We wish you luck in your future endeavors but fully expect to see you on the field next year with the rest of the guys who have been "retired" for years on our teams but somehow continue to make it on the field. :)

svincent6, I am going to have to agree. I just recently had a conversation concerning the Blazes future in this league and personally would hate to see that organization AND venue NOT come back. Not to mention, our squad has a couple of those retired guys who always seem to find a helmet in their hand come Saturdays. Next I am sure will be the same. Would be good to see most the organizations from AAA back actually....most

I hear ya K13. And I can't remember if it was you or someone else who made recommendations about getting league sponsors. One of the first types of sponsors we need to hit up should be airlines. We have two airlines that are headquartered locally (Delta and Skywest). Getting someone like that on board to donate fights to teams traveling certain distances would be so clutch and would undoubtedly keep more of these great teams around.

I doubt the Airlines will be willing to sponsor with flights, but I bet it would be possible to get a car rental company to sponsor with Vans to games.

No airline will sponsor this league.

First, we don't have enough people who would actually buy flights. Why would it be worth it for any airline for 20-30 guys in a whole year to fly people around? It makes no sense especially in a league that has over 700-800 players.

Also, corporate sponsors are hard to come by. Especially if teams don't participate as a whole. If teams don't all wear Nike or Under Armour (just examples) then why would it be worth it for a company like that?

Why would Pepsi want to sponsor our league if not EVERYONE in our league is serving Pepsi? What's in it for them? They're already a proven product. We aren't. We can't even guarantee them that 24 teams will be serving the product.

And as far as a RENTAL CAR COMPANY, we've had a corporate sponsorship with Enterprise in Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Montana for close to 3 years. If you mention the Rocky Mountain Football League, you get a fairly good discount. But 1) people don't know about it 2) people who know about it, don't use it 3) people look out for themselves over the greater good.

It's never changed, it's always been like this. Not just with sponsors, it's not what's great for the group, it's what's great for MY team at THIS moment.

And that's why we are Recreational Adult Football Players.

PEACE

My Picks

Tier 1

Stealth @ Rev - This is going to be a hell of a game.  Statistically these teams are basically the same.  It is the  #1 and 2 QB, the #1 and #2 Rec, There is no real travel issues.  The Rev Special Teams have been more explosive, but the Stealth Defense has been a turnover machine in the last 3 weeks.

This game is going to go to the team that makes the fewest mistakes and its hard to win a good team twice.  Stealth 31 - Rev 28

Rebels @ Sting - Travel is the x-factor for this game.  I think the Rebels are the better team, but if they don't travel well the Sting are very capable of winning.  Since it is the playoffs I think the Rebels will win.

Rebels 21 - Sting 13.

Tier 2

Shock @ Cobras - This game should be very competitive.  No travel issues for either team.  I've had the Shock rated in the top 6 in the power poll all season, and I have picked them to win the Tier 2 championship.  Talbot and Hadley are not enough to beat the Shock.  Shock 24 - Cobras 14

Bulldawgs @ Loco Express - I don't see how the Bulldawgs pull this on out, with the travel and they haven't been a very good team all year.  Loco Express 38 - Bulldawgs 10
