Tribute to The Follower??? -- The other predictions that matter...

As a tribute to my good friend The Follower???, I’ll try to keep the RMFL hooked in as much as possible . I will never be able to do what The Follower??? did for so many years. This is my half-ass attempt at it. I have ADHD, so staying here trying to analyze 8 games a week may be a challenge. Either way, I hope you guys enjoy – and remember I always post my name when I post.

Stampede @ REV

The Rev look to repeat and the Stampede look to rebuild. The Stampede came out last year and it looked as though they were going to restore a once proud program. As the season drew on, the depth became a huge issue and they faded towards the end. The Revolution want to throw another RevoUsos BBQ and hand out rings. The Stampede won’t be stopping them this week.  REV 35 Stampede 13

Vipers @ Lions

This is no longer AA ball. I repeat, this is no longer AA ball. With a fairly ugly win in preseason last week, the Vipers at least got the 2015 season rolling the way their AA Championship season ended, with a win. The only problem with that is, now they play one of the most elite team the RMFL has ever seen. In two games the Lions look like unstoppable. With a win over the Vegas Hawks and the Utah Cobras, they seem like a well-oiled machine getting ready for next week’s GOTW. Let’s just hope they don’t overlook the AA Champs. Lions 42 Vipers 7

Sting @ Stealth *** GAME OF THE WEEK

Here is a story of two teams that are completely different than they were last year. The Sting look to go back to their roots of a power run game, but there are still questions on who is the QB. Going 0-2 in preseason has this team up in arms. Now the Trojans of Vegas are probably top 5 in the RMFL, but the Crème de la Crème? The Sting has everyone scratching their heads. The Stealth come in with familiar faces but lose a lot of offensive production with the departure of Thomas (Shock) and Ubani (Rev). Wissler is ageless and will probably be successful, it just depends if the newer Stealth guys can fill the shoes of those who left. Both teams have us wondering, but Wissler is still a former RMFL Champion, my nod goes to the Stealth. Stealth 21 Sting 17

Shock @ Cobras

The Shock games will always be hard for me to preview or review. This is what made “The Follower???” so great. You actually thought he was a fan. I can be really biased or I can really piss off my teammates. I’m hoping I’m sitting in the middle when it comes to the Shock game predictions--- This is a rematch of the Tier 2 semifinals that the Shock was able to win. Even less than a year from that game these two teams are completely different. The Shock was unable to #TankforTalbot, but let’s be honest, we tanked for Thomas. =) The new look Cobras have added Tyler Garcia and have added some depth from the demise of the Mudducks. Their defense will have to pace this game. The Shock has and always will be known for their high powered offense, if they can keep the Wager and the Shock contained, they may just be able to make their former QB regret leaving. The Shock offense has always been hyped, and my opinion is they’ve always lived up to the hype (except playoff games – sad). This game comes down to the grit of the Cobras defense against the high flying Shock offense. This game could very well determine NIT or the Tournament. Bias Warning --- Shock 27 Cobras 17

Anarchy @ Bulldawgs

Bulldawgs open up their season with the 2014 Idaho Conference winner, as stated in my rankings, I don’t really know much about either team, but I do know that this game could determine a lot come late May, early June. If the Anarchy can use this road trip to gain some momentum, they could be an early favorite for the Northern Conference. However, I’m always biased towards a team and me and Ryan are internet friends. Ryan could be the missing piece for the Dawgs. I see a battle, Ryan, don’t let me down. Bulldawgs 17 Anarchy 13

Mustangs @ Snowdevils

What happens when you let emotions overcome reasonable thought processes? Well, you drink more right? The Snowdevils looked lost more than anything last week against the Vipers, but to be quite honest they didn’t look any different than the semi-final game they hosted last year. The Snowdevils need to find their niche now, or else it could be a long season, in maybe the last season for the Snowdevils. The Mustangs have nothing to lose in this game or this season. With some of Idaho joining the ICFL, they have long ties to the RMFL. It’s a pride thing for the Stangs—with nothing to lose and everything to gain, I smell upset. Mustangs 13 Snowdevils 10

Gladiators @ Loco Express

What Montana once was, and what Montana is now. The Gladiators are hoping to regain that form they once had when they won back to back AA championships. They have added some key components, but they have ALWAYS struggled in AAA. Laurel knows they can compete with teams considered the “Power 4”, but they also know they have to win the winnable games. Win the games they have to, and stay close in the ones where they can. If they can squeak by with the coin flip games, they will look good come mid-June. Gladiators haven’t won a meaningful game since 2013 – Loco Express 27 Gladiators 14

Unfortunately, the software to run Pick 'Em was not compatible with the new site (*cringe*). I realize it's a big loss, and have talked with Jesus about it; but for this year, we simply don't have a way for it to interface with the current website.
