All I can say is sorry to the diggers I personally was looking forward to this game but I guess other people's life's got busy this weekend and we're not able to drive to burley to finish out our season
Now I know I'm AA and I don't matter as much, but I'm pretty sure my team fee was the same as the AAA so I'm giving my 2 cents
Let us all be real, we put a long list of requirements for new teams to met before they can even be considered for a vote by the managing group, but not much for existing teams to prove we are able to remain viable entities to our league, beyond the league fee and our "word" as the owners, and let's be honest, not many owners trust each other.
When I vote for a team to be allowed in, it is not the team as much as that individual owner I am voting yes to.
We have guys able to buy existing teams and not be approved by the group and to me, that upsets the whole process and it is pointless. NFL owners DO NOT allow another team to be sold to a guy they DO NOT want in the group...Look it up
Remember when we had 2 Logan Stampedes, then the next year we had ZERO (Sting bought one and the other one folded) What if James Eyre was a horrible owner?(not saying you are, just an example) We couldn't do anything about him and that will make everyone look bad if he screwed up big time.
I would like to put forth that all teams that forfeit and all teams that change "ownership" have to go back to square one as a new team, met the requirements and be VOTED back in to the RMFL.
Also I say EACH and EVERY SINGLE team in the RMFL should also have to meet a list of preseason requirements like the new teams, not as much detail as new teams but more than is currently done. I do not need a practice video of 25 guys if I finished my season properly, but I should have to show that I am taking care of my responsibilities in other areas. Most of the new team requirements are something each team should ensure they are doing and I highly doubt we all are
Each team reflects on the other teams good and bad. Obviously no system is perfect and not all rules will be followed if not properly enforced.
Plus honestly, some rules if violated, don't seem to really matter to owners if punished or not. This season my team traveled 7 hours to a brand new multi million dollar field just so the home team could laugh "just fine us" because they had no showers for us, point is even if we had reported it, a $25 fine doesn't get us a shower.
Plus I doubt that fines do matter when 2 owners off of one team claimed to have paid a forfeit fine last year to the league and then the league claims "they don't have that fine on their books".
So it's easy to understand why nobody trusts anyone and why things are not taken seriously in this league from the top to the bottom.
AND IT IS ALL OUR OWN FAULT AS "OWNERS" FOR LETTING THE WANTS OF A FEW GUYS OUTWEIGH THE NEEDS OF THE WHOLE GROUP.
Rant over, see you all at Weber state
