The new website will be switched over tomorrow (03.05.16) at 10:00 am. It will be version 1.0 and only the prototype. My goal was to make it as user-friendly as possible and isolate the teams more. I wanted everyone to be able to find team/game specific information without searching the entire website. As I told some of the GMs, I wanted it to be easy to find what you need in as few clicks as possible. I'm sure I will be making changes over the next few weeks and throughout the season to accommodate what you guys want the website to be.
Please, go through it and make note of any errors, links that don't work or incorrect information. There will be some dead links due to information that I have not received. Eventually I will remove those links from the team pages so they do not even appear but I wanted to give GMs an opportunity to get me that information. If I actually received the information, I have added it to the website so if you don't see it.....I didn't get it. I have went scanned every page but after hours of looking at it, everything starts to look the same. Please, pick it apart and let me know what you like and what you do not like. Be honest but please be constructive. The things that I think look great may not be the same opinion of others and I can respect that. I got a few second opinions from guys in and outside of the league to help me move in the right direction.
There will be some things added/updated over the next month or so as the information becomes available, (i.e: standings, stats, previews, game times, etc.). I have linked some of this stuff to the old pages to hold the space until we get the updated information. I have put a lot of time into the new website and think you will like it. I can't wait to get the feedback.....good and bad.
I have been looking at the website for only about ten minutes. I can say and this is just from personal experience both building websites and presenting them. The BIG RED BLOCK OF DISTRACTION... needs to go. All it does is actually distract from what you're trying to accomplish on the main page...APPEAL. Secondly. The RMFL has gotta get on these new teams to get their websites updated.... I have only checked a handful of team websites and its not promising.... It looks very bush league of even the RMFL to not have updated websites for teams (i know this is a struggle every year...with many teams...still needs to be addressed).
Also... i know this is a very picky thing to bring up, but your URLs are very indirect. Example. Ypu click on the Shock logo and this web URL http://www.thermfl.com/#!bulldawgs-at-vipers-5-15-16/ctz3 leads to the Shock Information page. WTF??? I am not even sure you realized you did this, as it is done quite frequently throughout the website.
I will take more time to get more constructive critique to you when I have the chance. So far its not unbearable though, so that's a positive right? Time will tell haha

The history wasn't told by me. That was the history in the eyes of former commish Jared Neumeier.
Also, I saved all stats of the Muddogs/Shock so I'll be doing some updates of that to update the records page for the Shock guys.
To update the MVPs --
2004 Buck Mouser played with the Madison Lionz 2004 Ernesto Ramos played with the Boise Roughriders
2010 Offensive MVP - Ben Moa, Cache Valley Bears I think.. Or Diarra Fields, Saint George Blitz 2011 Vince played with the Dixie Rebels
I'm not positive but I may have updated records up to 2009 on an old hard drive somewhere. Not positive. I will look when I can get back to SLC to check some old boxes.
In 2006 there wasn't overall mvp awards in AA. They had conference MVPs
North O MVP - Justin Nixon, Bitterroot Blaze North D MVP - Jamie Jones, Bitterroot Blaze
South O MVP - Jeff Dottson - Colorado Scorpions South D MVP - Kyto Khouang, Muddogs
Coach of the Year - Jared Emerick and John Thornton, Mud Dogs
Do y'all need 2014 and 2015?
I could write up summaries for 2011-2015 but, I don't want to. Lol. Maybe one day.

I can definitely remove the red boxes. That's easy enough and I will take it into consideration. Obviously I can't just change things based on every opinion that I will receive. I will discuss the potential changes with the staff and go from there. Would you prefer a different color or simply the black background? It doesn't matter to me either way.
I believe, the Great North Division decided that a Facebook page is just as good as a website as long as they have all of the necessary information updated on their Facebook page. I will remove all of the links that don't go anywhere in a couple weeks but I wanted to leave them there so teams have time to submit them to me. BUT.....I agree that if you have one, it should be updated.
When I click on www.thermfl.com it takes me to the homepage. Is anyone else having this problem? Is that what you meant? Sorry for the confusion.
Kyto,
I will update the teller of the information to Jared Neumeier. I will add the additional information to the MVPS and I will also be reversing the order so the most recent champs are at the top. I think Brad has the 2014-2015 information. I just have not received it yet.
Also, I have the names for 2006 that were on the website. Are those incorrect? I just want to make sure that I am updating the information correctly. The only one that matches is Justin Nixon so I am making sure that I read your post correctly. Please, let me know.
Blah,
Michael has received a lot of the previews but it takes him a little time to take your answers and put them into the article format. I will post them as I receive them. I believe he is going in the order that he received them. They will all be up shortly.
THANKS FOR THE INPUT EVERYONE. I APPRECIATE IT.

I noticed a couple of minor issues with links - Facebook links for Rev, Shock and Vipers go to old Facebook pages. Rev lastest post was 2014, Shock 2010, and Vipers Mar 2015. Its possible these teams aren't using facebook anymore, but my guess is they have new pages. Also 4 teams don't have website links - Hawks, Sting, Vipers, and Wildcats, also possible they don't have websites.
The site looks good to me. I like the idea of having all team rosters on the page. It would be nice for fans to be able to download a pdf of each teams rosters to take to the games, maybe even a media guide/program.
I had to search for most of that stuff which I probably shouldn't have but most GMs didn't actually submit the information to me. I just used what I found on facebook and the internet. If GMs want the information updated, they can still submit it to me and I will change it as I receive it.
As I stated above, I left links for websites and team information in case GMs submit them to me. If they don't submit them to me, I will remove the link in a couple weeks so it isn't a wasted "click" for anyone.
The roster and stats links on the team pages will direct you straight to the Hosted Stats page for that team, which I think will be cool. I didn't like that you had to click 10 things in order to get to a specific team's information. I tried to make it a little more user-friendly and easier to access what you want faster.
*****I've received a lot of good feedback, (even if constructive criticism) and I will be implementing and making changes within the next month to hopefully have it fully functional prior to the start of the season.
I corrected what I was trying to say with the URLs. It should now display the URL i was meaning to as the example in my original message.
The back ground should flow as a solid color. I like the black. So just use some kind of separator for the different sections and it will look much more appealing but that's just my opinion...take it for what it's worth.
I also like the direction your going with the Team preview pages. Regardless of whether or not a team has their own website functioning, you should be able to reach out and keep their information page preview pretty up to date. Keep up that part.
The website is most likely going to be a work in progress the first couple months, that's understandable. If I was you... I would reach out to some tenured players for information they may have. They may even have some connections to people with information your looking for. ( you may have tried this, but its just a thought)

If you can tell me where you got that link, I can look at it or update it. It looks like it was the Bulldawgs v. Vipers who are not even in the same division and the Bulldawgs are gone. It may just be a "ghost link" from the old site. Let me know and I'll go take a look at it.
those are the links of "write-ups" past and there were 9,000,000 pages from each game last season within the frame of the website. there are probably quite a few that i missed because I simply updated the pages and where they go. I have a new way to do it this year so it won't clog up the bandwidth and create so many pages. BUT only a "webhead" would click that link at the top when they're already on the page. LOL. I'm impressed. I will get the time someday to go back and delete all of those links/pages but for now,,,,,DO NOT USE THAT URL LINK AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. Simply click where you want to go inside the page. Can you please use your "Men In Black" wand and make sure that people don't see what you wrote? I'm working on the mobile version now.
DAMN YOU, KICKERS! LOL!
