Great North Week 4 Predictions from an Ignorant Guy

Brought the old title back!

Cobras @ Warriors

The Cobras are on a roll. There are 3 undefeated teams left in the league, and they are one of them. Although their game last week was a little closer than the Cobras have grown accustomed to, I think they still have plenty of confidence going into Week 4. Their defense will need to pitch a shutout this week vs the Warriors. The Warriors have a pretty good defensive unit, and it seems like the Cobra's offense might be losing some steam, without Ihde back there running the ball.

The Warriors have now lost 2 in a row, on the road. They are desperate for a win this week to not get too long of a losing streak going. Their defense is solid (assuming everyone shows up). But I'm not sure if they have the offensive weapons to move the ball on the Cobras. At least not consistently. Their offense will need to step up this week, to be able to get a victory.

Cobras 14 - Warriors 6

Outlaws @ Oilers

The Outlaws got their first W of the season, last week. That's awesome! Now they need to focus on the Oilers. Their offense seems to be pretty consistent, averaging just over 20 points per game. If their defense can step it up this week, and not give up 38 points, which is their average on the road this season, They have a chance.

The Oilers got Ihde back, and it shows. A close game last week, with one of the top 2 teams in the league is a pretty good start for them. Now they are hosting a Wyoming team that, for some reason, forgets their defense at home. I think the Jake has a hay day.

Outlaws 7 - Oilers 28

Stampede @ Anarchy

So apparently these two teams don't travel very well. They've both lost to the Diggers, on the road, and spanked the Mustangs, at home. But such is the nature of this league.

The Stampede have a strong team, that can upset anyone in this league. As long as it's a home game for them.

The Anarchy's travel team is about 20-25 players, and their home team is close to double that. So I figure, that if the Anarchy have the same players as they did last week, they will have no problem steam rolling the Stampede. But if the Stampede bring their players, then this is going to be a good game.

The hard part is knowing who shows up... Did the Anarchy have so many players because it was a home game, or because it was the Mustangs they were playing last week? Or did the Stampede travel well last week, and just get flat-out beat by the Diggers, or did they only take 15 guys? Will that be the same case this week? Too many variables...

Stampede 7 - Anarchy 21

**GOTW**

Diggers @ Mustangs

Sorry, but I gotta go with this game being the GOTW, just because of all the playoff implications that it entails. A 1-2 Mustangs team that expects much more from itself, and a 3-0 Diggers team that is on cloud 9 right now.

The Diggers are 3-0. Amazing job guys! You're 3-0 vs 2 good Central Division teams, and one Montana team that is better than everyone gave them credit for. That's awesome! Keep up the good work. But not this week. I'm gonna need you guys to fall apart this week if you don't mind. haha

The Mustangs are struggling to get into a rhythm this season. They are trying to pull together as a team, and get things done. They have the talent and determination to be a #1 seed in the Central Division, they just need to use it. 2 Weeks on the road has been rough, but now they're back home, at a field they've never lost a game at, vs a team they've never lost a game to. Emotions are high, and they are looking to get back .500.

Xtreme @ Avalanche

The Xtreme traveled pretty far last week up to the Monsters, and put up a lot of points. But their defense allowed a lot as well. Can they fix their issued on defense, and get a winning streak going?

The Avalanche are on a bad losing streak. They are at home and desperate for a win, to keep their season alive. Starting off 0-4 would be devastating to morale. Especially with 4 road games left.

Xtreme 21 - Avalanche 6

Monsters @ Gladiators

The Monsters do have 1 win under their belt. They liked the taste of victory, and are looking for it again. But they are playing arguably the best team in the Great North, in Great Falls. They are going to have to really fight to stay in this game.

Great Falls has made a huge bounce back from a couple of years ago. They are undefeated, and it looks like there is not one standing in their way this season to stop them.

Monsters 7 - Gladiators 45

My bias shows too much, so I decided to stop picking my own games.

Cobras @ Warriors

- Cobras looking strong so far and are gunning  for that top spot and #! overall seed.  To do it  they will need to focus on a Warriors team that has been ice cold as of late after starting on some nice high notes.  Back to back shut out losses for the Warriors does not pose well for things to come for their offense.. or lack there of. Meanwhile the Cobras offense has scored over 100 points in its first 3 games, and their defense has been clicking since its week 1 shutout victory that began this train a rollin.  Not much to be  said here,  I think this is one of only  two or thre games  that could get out of hand and lop sided with the others being tight battles.  But these two teams are trending in two very different directions right  now and I fully expect those to continue.

Cobras 36 - Warriors 6

Outlaws @ Oilers  **GOTW**

- The outlaws have seemed to gotten better and better each week.  They already showed an improvement from a shutout loss in week 1, to a victory over that same team this last weekend.  Now  that their only head to head loss has been made even, they can try to get a step up on the Oilers.  It seems that Idhe was a Cobra in week 1, now an Oiler the res of the way?  I'm not sure but justhaving read some stuff on FB and  here that's the best I could surmise.  If he is back with Oilers and the line can protect him he'll make plays for sure.  The outlaws have most improved from last year maybe if they can win this one and keep  the upward momentum on its current swing.  The Oilers being at home, and Uintah Basin being a hard (maybe down right ****ty) place to travel to,  is what gives them the advantage in the end.

Outaws 20 - Oilers 29

Stampede @ Anarchy

- Another game that honestly  I debated being the Game Of The Week, because the winner of this game is still in the playoff hunt and the loser would need everyone else in their division to fall on their face in order to get back into it.  The Stampede started so strong this season and really should have the ability to be playing with teams in the Great North but is some what struggling thus far.  The Anarchy too have certainly the ability to play with all these guys.. if they can travel to their road games.  But this one is at home, and they should have numbers for that.  However, the Stampede appeared to have traveled well to Idaho already and this time are looking for a different result.  I'll say now that they know the roads west and it's a familiar routine twice in four weeks, that they overcome their early stumbles and  run all over the Anarchy.

Stampede 26 - Anarchy 20

Diggers @ Mustangs

- The Diggers just won't stop and wont quit.  They decided not to care who was in their division or what league they were apart of and just win games.  But now the Mustangs are up against a wall and are like an animal that's backed into a corner, so let's see how dangerous they can be.  How much fight is in the home team that desperately needs a win?  How badly does the road team feel the want and drive to win?  A great in-state matchup that if the Mustangs win evens out the whole division, and if the Diggers win puts them far and ahead squarely in the driver seat to a #1 seed in Idaho. Also close to my game of the week but not quite.    I think the Diggers are real strong this year but the Mustangs are too good at home when they need to be and squeak this one out by an inch.

Diggers 21 - Mustangs 22

Xtreme @ Avalanche

- It seems that the bye week did Billings well.. and that Helena's can't come soon enough.  The Xtreme got their offense rolling after not opening very strongly in that department in week 1.  But their defense seems to still be trying to find sure ground beneath them.  They gave up quite a bit to the Monsters it seemed, being that the winless Avalanche held the same team to just 12 points.  This week the Avalanche need to string a drive or two together, and get some good field position every now and then or it will be a long day.  The Xtreme have shown talent and are in a two way race to chase Great Falls and hope for wild card spot.  A head to head already won against the Monsters last week,  they can't get caught in a trap game here or it'll be one step forward and two steps back.  That Avalanche are going to give it their all for their last home game, but will that be enough?  Eventually the talent of the Xtreme will overpower the new comers.  Hopefully they find a game or two this season to make their own and win the  day,  but this will not be one of them.

Xtreme 34 - Avalanche 13

Monsters @ Gladiators

- I'm not sure if anybody else expected the Monsters to even have a win this early,  and in turn to be this good.  Howvere, it is nice to see a team in the North that's competing and above where they were expected.  Still, this week they go against easily the best team in their division, maybe even the whole Great North.  The Gladiators are just now making their home debut in week 4, and I hear they're amped for it.  Their schedule looks very favorable with only 2 road games left, one in state and the other SASA, they play 4 of their next 6 at home now and I expect the energy level to be through the roof on that sideline of shenanigans.   The Monsters are riding into this one on high hopes and dreams of playing spoiler and sneaking away with one while the Glads are caught looking ahead to the Anarchy, but unfortunately for them it's just another tune up game for the Gladiators as they roll on.

Monsters 6 - Gladiators 48

The Warriors are a completely different team at home than they are on the road. It's been like that since they came into the league. Please, don't get that confused. The Cobras are 100% aware of their talent and we expect a battle. The trend has only been that they had a home game followed by 2 road games with only 15-18 players travelling.

Jake Ihde is a beast but did not play any actual games with us. He suited up in a pre-season game against the Sting, didn't travel to Montana and then was released back to the Oilers before game #2. He needed to be closer to home to tend to his wife and newborn child.....oh yeah.....and play quarterback.

Haha first of its IHDE, second I was 100% fully commited to the cobras, obviously who wouldn't want to be, great team, great ownership, and i loved it.. I had a baby 3 days before Montana, my son was health and a stud but still was admitted cause his jaundice, than I realized I needed to be closer to home an d not traveling everyweekend to be closer and there for my wife and 4 kids, I wasn't planning on playing QB, but the Oilers accepted me back and put me in that roll.. so instead of FB stalking or whatever it is you do this is straight from the source! Thanks all, hope everyone travels safe!!

Never met you or played against you, so sorry if you were some how offended I accidentally switched up two consecutive letters in your name.  also, seems like there's some attitude about where you're playing.  I didn't say anything except other people were talking about you as a cobra then you were on the oilers stat line.  Anybody who's not involved with those two organizations would have similar questions, I know because lots of other people did too.  And good for you and the oilers both.  They needed a leader like that, and in return he gets to be closer to home and a part of his (new) family.  Sounds like a win win.  And I've never played the Warriors at home either only when they're on the road, so I wouldn't know about their home strength but thanks for the heads up!  I still stand by prediction but maybe with another score or two to the Warriors.

You are what you put on the field, home or away, we have loads of guys who work at the gold mines and can't travel consistently, but ultimately that's just an excuse, Oilers and Outlaws have Oil rig workers and Gladiators have Airmen so every team has guys who can't travel, we all get the schedule in the early part of February, so anything else is just an excuse.

Either plan better, get more dedicated guys or show up understaffed and play ball... we do because that's the point of this whole league and because we refuse to forfeit.

Jake totally changed the atmosphere of his homecoming for the Oilers, he is their heart and powers that offense.

Cobras look very intimidating and we expect a very tough team coming Saturday, they want to lock up a good seed and we just want back in playoff contention I'm very excited for this game.

I was not offended nor there wasn't any attitude, haha if u knew me u would understand.. and yes traveling is always a issue, there's always talent in "AA" but travel kills, depth kills, most teams are a injury away from losing the whole season.. And FYI everyone, Cobras are legit, the D front is dominant, with fast line backers in JK and the other gingy one (sorry don't know your name big fella, and rozy is very deceiving, looks kinda slow but moves well and is always where t he ball is.. props the the secondary as well!! And Ryan workman is a baller
