I honestly think this will be the best game to watch this week. The last time these 2 teams squared off, it was a 6 point game, and the Cobras were the home team. I wonder if it could go the other way this week? Either way, it will be a good close game.
The Cobras are still undefeated on the season. And so far, the Oilers are the only ones that have made it a competition for them. They better travel well this week. The last thing they need is a loss going in to SASA.
The Oilers are 2-2. They need to win here, and hope the Cobras lose to the Stampede at SASA so they can have a chance to host in the playoffs.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say UPSET ALERT!!!!
Cobras 14 - Oilers 17
Outlaws @ Anarchy
The Outlaws are 1-3. They have proven to not be the easy game anymore. But they only ever seem to be decent at home. Unfortunately, they pretty much know the playoffs are out of the picture for them, this season. If they can't get guys out to their away games early in the season, when there is still hope, I see them struggling to get bodies to Blackfoot, when they are all but eliminated from the playoffs.
The Anarchy had a really close game last week vs the #1 team in the league. Losing by one point in the final minute of the game is heart-breaking. They will definitely want to start fighting for point differential this week, and get as many points on the board as they can, vs a long-travelling, undermanned Outlaws team.
Outlaws 3 - Anarchy 27
Diggers @ Stampede
The Diggers have bounced back from their loss vs the Mustangs in great fashion vs the Warriors. But now they have some pretty hard games ahead of them. Travel games to Logan and Blackfoot, who haven't lost at home yet this season, and hosting the Mustangs, who beat them already earlier in the season. Will they wind up 4-4, even though they started out strong this season? It's anyone's guess at this point, with all 4 Central Division teams ranked 4 through 7.
The Stampede are looking to exact some revenge, and get some momentum going for them to take into SASA next week from the potentially still undefeated Cobras. I think they take advantage of having a home game, and get ahead early and keep it just out of reach for the Diggers.
Diggers 14 - Stampede 21
Avalanche @ Monsters
At this point in the season, with as little success as they've had so far, the Avalanche are just looking for something to build upon. This is their last real chance to potentially get a win. These are 2 of the lowest-ranked teams in the league, so they really need to show up and win to get any sort of good news from this season. Getting that first win could be huge for them for recruiting for next season.
The Monsters are sitting at 1-3, and hoping to finish out the season 2-6. They can then get some momentum to get better recruiting, and be able to hang with the Glads and Xtreme.
Avalanche fight hard to get their first win, but a long drive, and a Monsters team that doesn't want to lose to the last-ranked team in the league, are too much for them.
Avalanche 14 - Monsters 17
Xtreme @ Gladiators
The Xtreme pretty much know, at this point, they are the #2 seed form the Norther Division, and they will need to travel in the playoffs. Ken has probably been on the phone all week with Jeff to figure out how the Anarchy kept it close.
The Gladiators stumbled a bit last week. No one ever expected the Anarchy to keep it that close. I hear Jurasek was hurt. Was he benched for a while? Did the Anarchy actually travel well??
I still think that week 1 was a fluke, and these 2 teams are better matched than that score showed.
