If someone has a few extra minutes he or she should put together the strength of schedule rankings so we can get a little more clarity on the playoff scenario.
I think everyone is thinking of the seeding and potential situations for the other teams below the Cobras and Gladiators. That Idaho division is very hard to calculate. I think teams 1-4 can all still make the playoffs. I could be mistaken. There is a way the the Oilers can still make the playoffs but that's the only mystery in the Utah division. Montana division is already wrapped up.
I want to preface this post by saying I am not predicting anything. These are simply the best and worst playoff scenarios for each team. The Anarchy, Cobras, and Gladiators have all wrapped up their respective divisions. Only three teams are mathematically eliminated, and there are three un-clinched playoff spots up for grabs. Here is the best and worst case scenarios for each team. These scenarios are assuming the following:
- The above strength of schedule is correct
- The strength of schedule is counting inter-division teams twice, not once
- Strength of schedule is actually the tie-breaker
- Strength of schedule doesn't change

Idaho *Anarchy- 3 Seed regardless of win or loss
Diggers- 4 Seed with win
Stampede- 4 Seed with win and Diggers loss
Mustangs- 4 Seed with win and Stampede loss
Utah
*Cobras- 1 Seed with win and Gladiators loss
Outlaws- 5 Seed with win, Mustang loss, Stampede loss
Oilers- 7 Seed with win, Stampede loss, Outlaws loss

The Mustangs and Stampede have no hope of a #4 seed. The Xtreme have already put it out of reach for those two teams. The only team that could take it from them is the Diggers. If the Diggers win, and the Xtreme lose, then the Diggers take 4th seed, and Xtreme take 5th.
